STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE has officially been announced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 alongside it’s all-new debut trailer. Are you ready to explore the stars?

It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since the release of STAR OCEAN: Integrity and Faithlessness released on PlayStation 4 consoles. Now, here we are, five years later and we’re getting news about an all-new title within the franchise that’s currently in development. The latest title, STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE is slated to release on PC as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles in 2022.

As the franchise celebrates its 25th Anniversary, Square Enix has revealed that the new game won’t just be a new game – it’s going to expand on everything that makes Star Ocean what it is. This means everything we love will be improved upon and the story itself, quite possibly unforgettable, which makes it all the more exciting that the new title has been announced.

Unlike previous titles, Star Ocean The Divine Force will be changing up how combat works. You won’t see randomized encounters moving forward, but rather, one large populated world where enemies will take on fights as they wish. You can do this while floating around, diving down upon your enemies and even flying about in whatever means of transportation you have at your disposal.

Players will see that Raymond, Ydas, and Laeticia, will have a chance to explore dark, vast valleys, trek up towering mountains, and even dive through the various castles and towns that inhabit the world. The game also sees the return of Akiman who is previously known for their works on STAR OCEAN: Integrity and Faithlessness as well as the STREET FIGHTER franchise.
