Pros:
+Gorgeous 4K visuals at 60fps on the Xbox One X
+All classes play differently, each coming with their own loadouts and sets of perks
+Enemies aren’t pushovers and can easily overwhelm groups of players
+Extremely low latency in matchmaking

Cons:
-Minor framerate dips do occur from time to time.

Editors Note: Due to having reviewed the PC and PlayStation 4 editions of the game at an earlier date (those can be viewed here), the review was handed to a newcomer to the Killing Floor franchise.

Just when I thought zombie games were left to The Walking Dead and Call of Duty, little did I know Killing Floor 2 was on the horizon to show me some amazing sights. Enter the finished rounds of shotgun shells dropping to the floor when you go to reload as you soon find out that you are out of ammunition. “AHHHHHHHHHH, HELP, THEY ARE COMING RIGHT FOR ME!” Thankfully I was on a team to help save me, as our medic shot me with a healing dart and took me to the nearest ammo crate and so that I wouldn’t die in our following round.

killing-floor-2_20161114220629

Pros:
+Intuitively designed class-based system that brings out the importance of each role
+Weapon designs are intriguing, creative, and overly fun
+The gore system puts almost every game to date to shame
+Each level has multiple layers, which ensures no fight is the same
+Character personalities are great and wildly amusing
+Team work is an absolute must
+Rock solid control schemes that transition well from PC to console

Cons:
Needs more cowbell (not really, we’ll pretend this con doesn’t exist)
-Micro-transactions for chest keys could deter some players.

If you’re like me, you’ve begun to groan over the Zombie trope. It’s one that has become overdone across every medium possible. Want to watch a good TV drama with some zombie humor? iZombie has you covered. Want to watch Negan cave in a man’s skull and be grossed out beyond recognition? The Walking Dead has you covered. Want to cooperatively run for your life from zombies? Resident Evil has that covered.

Tripwire Makes Killing Floor 2 Global Publishing Deal for PS4 with Deep Silver and Iceberg Games

Killing Floor 2 as you know has already been a huge game for both David and I. We’ve put quite a bit of time into it blowing up zombies, beating them to a bloody visceral mess, and even stacking their corpses for a bonfire on PC. You may also know I have way too many damn mods for my PC version of the game. However, that’s not a problem, and that’s because the PlayStation 4 version is officially on its way as Tripwire Interactive has signed a publishing deal with both Deep Silver (Dead Island, Saints Row) and Iceberg Games.

KF2_ReturnOfThePatriarchUpdate_006

This new deal will allow for fans to experience the outbreak caused by Horzine’s Biotech experiment’s that failed causing the collapse of the European Union as everything from government, to military forces, to communications, and eventually financial structures collapsed. In its wake, the European content has been swallowed by swarms of the undead, leaving survivors to fight for their lives in order to stop the infestation from getting worse. For those of you that haven’t experienced the title that features new perks, return of fan-favored bosses, and a replayability like non-other? Here’s your features for this upcoming title:

Visceral Gore – KILLING FLOOR 2 ramps up the gore with a proprietary, high powered persistent blood system bringing new levels of fidelity to the genre. Players will send entrails, severed limbs, and blood flying as they wade through hordes of enemies. But they need to watch out! Tripwire Interactive Brings Rising Storm 2: Vietnam and Killing Floor 2 to PAX East

image002

Whether or not you know the titles, these are two that shouldn’t be easily dismissed as  competitors in the FPS genre. While Rising Storm is an award-winning tactical shooter, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam takes players to the familiar war known as “Vietnam” as the name suggests. The game takes players into a brutal and authentic recreation of the Vietnam War while players are visiting the great city of Boston.

KF2_May_Manor_4

If you aren’t familiar with Killing Floor 2 the name is just as it suggests. With the title once more picking up the helm of where Killing Floor left off with the frantic co-op shooter where fans try to survive hordes of zombies that seek to do one thing: consume flesh. In this game players work side-by-side in order to fight through brutal hordes of enemies. However, the version you’ll be seeing?
