 FalloutShelter_Announce_Large_Vault_1434320365

Remember back at QuakeCon 2015 when we reported that Bethesda Softworks was going to release Fallout Shelter, the first-ever mobile game set in the celebrated Fallout universe from Bethesda Game Studios on Android Devices this summer? It has. As of these past few days, anyone who owns an Android Device can jump onto the Google Play store and download it for free of charge, but with in-game paid options that are not required.

As many who have played it know, which is something we can admittedly say we agree, the game is fun, addicting, and is very player-friendly with its approach to in-app purchases, which are not required to play. With Fallout Shelter having received high accolades from the leading outlets in the gaming media, it has earned ‘Game of the Week’ from Touch Arcade, nominations for ‘Biggest Surprise’ from IGN and ‘Best Handled/Mobile Game’ from the official Game Critics Awards, which sets it apart from any mobile game out there.

With its launch, the game comes with all content up-to-date, and even introduces Mr. Handy whom is the games ultimate robotic companion as a premium reward. Players can use Mr. Handy to collect resources from inside the Vault, send him into the wasteland to find caps, or simply let him help protect your Vault from nasty invaders that seek to pillage and plunder it. This newest updated version includes new Deathclaw invasions and the pesky Molerats who will infest your Vault if you aren’t careful.

Much like Fallout, Fallout Shelter is a post-nuclear strategy and simulation title that puts players into the role of the Overseer of their own state-of-the-art underground Vault, which helped protect your Vault Dweller community from the nuclear fallout that occurred. Players will learn to help their communities grow, manage resources, and even help their Dwellers specialize with S.P.E.C.I.A.L.’s when they aren’t busy having families of their own. If you want to learn more about Fallout Shelter, visit the game’s official website: www.FalloutShelter.com.

Stay tuned for our upcoming review.

Having Trouble Connecting to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited?

Through various sources on forums, social media groups, and even their very own tech support page; ESO has come into a bit of trouble with people connecting to their servers. In doing so some players are reporting issues in certain zones such as dungeons, map regions, towns, businesses, etc, and now? The ESO team is investigating, but they need a bit of information. This includes the console you are on, where you are located in real life geographically, what the last thing you were doing in game was as well as where you were located, when the last time you played was including if you were recently kicked or what happened when you were kicked, and if you have created a support ticket (if you did, supply them the support ticket # so they can look into it).

With this having become a slight issue for some, it is only expected with a freshly launched MMO, and one that has quickly began to bring in staggeringly large crowds of fans on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If you are having problems? Head here and submit your experience, but you will be required to have an ESO account setup through the website.

Want a New Silent Hill Game? It’s Not What You Want.

Silent_Hills_PT_SC01

You’re probably no stranger to the drama that unfolded during the spring when Konami announced that they were abruptly splitting ways with Hideo Kojima after his upcoming title Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain released. With many fans appauled and even disgruntled by this announcement, we learned Destructoid that composer, Rika Muranaka, that the relationship between Kojima has been struggling for quite sometime. Finding out this bit of news hurt, especially after the removal of his name from the upcoming MGS title, but also the complete cancellation of the highly anticipated and well received Silent Hills title. The downside?

It seems that this news wasn’t too far off that Konami might just be parting from games in general for a handheld and casino like market. The trailer below? Seems to point right at that possibility where Konami says they are or aren’t.

Our Take:
While we know the friendship between Kojima and Konami hasn’t been great, we know there were numerous reports that Konami wasn’t going to stay in the gaming market seems to be more than true with the announcement of this newest pachinko machine. Sadly? This seems to be the signs that Konami may just be folding under the want for the high-profit casino scene. While I would love to see a new Silent Hill game, this is definitely not the one we would like to see, but instead we are given this. What will happen to the franchise? With it becoming a gambling game, we can only wonder how much worse it can get for Konami fans.

Nintendo Announces New amiibo’s for September

Written by Dustin Murphy

september-amiibo

With September quickly arriving, so is the anticipation for the newest line-up of amiibo’s that will be hitting the market starting September 11th. In the line-up you can see we will be getting some special ones for Super Smash Bros. such as Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr. while Nintendo also launches a Super Mario Bros. 30th anniversary series Mario amiibo that will follow the tradition of the NES graphics. Yes that means he’ll look like his 8-bit glorious self as an amiibo. Due to his uniqueness? We expect him to be the rarest one of this group, especially with him being fully compatible with the upcoming Super Mario Maker  for the Wii U console. Both the game and the amiibo figure will launch on the 11th of September.

Want to know who all is launching on September, 11th, 2015? Here you go:

  • 30th Anniversary Mario Classic Color
  • Zero Suit Samus
  • Ganondorf
  • Olimar
  • Bowser Jr.
  • Dr. Mario
On Sept. 25, a Retro 3 Pack will launch, which includes R.O.B., Duck Hunt and Mr. Game & Watch amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series in a single package, which launched exclusively at GameStop as a pre-order capable set this morning.

Three figures based on Mii Fighters, which were previously announced for release in September, will now launch as a 3-Pack in November. More information about launch plans for the 30thAnniversary Mario Modern Color amiibo in North America will be shared in the future, and this is something we can only wait. Till then? Stay tuned.

Our Take:
While it’s not a secret that amiibo’s are extremely popular, it seems that amiibo’s are being handled a bit better this time around, which seems to follow up from the rocky release of Lucina, Robin, Splatoon, and even previous ones such as Villager, we know that Nintendo is going through efforts to make amiibo’s match supply and demand. While some people still lose out, it seems re-stocks have become a bit more common in larger towns. The question is. Will this do something about the scalper market or are they helping it flourish? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Nintendo Wins a New Patent Case Pertaining to the DS Family

New_Nintendo_3DS_XL03

If you are one to read the news, you already know that Nintendo has been slammed with several patent infringements by other companies. As of this week, we’ve learned directly from Nintendo that they have won another patent case, but this time they have won against Secure Axcess LLC, which claimed that Nintendo’s DS family pertaining to the Nintendo DS, DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and other consoles do not infringe upon the patented content the company had filed. With recently winning, Nintendo has recently won 10 out of 10 of the disputed issues regarding to the scope of that Secure Axcess, LLC claimed that Nintendo infringed upon. At the helm of the Washington states federal court, Judge Ricardo Martinez issued the ruling after it was originally filed back in January 2013 in a Texas court. In the original filing, Axcess had issued a patent-assertion had stated that Nintendo had infringed upon the patents filed against them. With Nintendo’s ruling, Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s General Counsole and Senior Vice President of Business affairs stated that “We are very pleased with the court’s rulings and outcome in this case, and will continue to vigorously defend our innovative products against patent lawsuits.”

With this ruling, we also learned that a case against Nintendo was also dismissed back in July on the 17th, where a federal court judge also ruled that eight of Nintendo’s most popular hand-held consoles, which included Nintendo’s 3DS, DSi, and GBA were not infringing upon the patent asserted against them by Quintal Research, Inc.

Our Take:
While it’s never good to hear about copyright or patent infringements, it certainly has seemed that Nintendo has been slammed with them in the past few years. With them having won this overall ruling, it looks like Nintendo is clearing out the dust, and letting it settle from patent infringing lawsuits. With the recent passing of their well renowned and beloved former president, Satoru Iwata, Nintendo can now breath a little easier while we await news regarding who will be taking his place. The only question now? What will Nintendo due to keep the patent trolls away?

Are you a fan of Might & Magic and want to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the franchise? If so, you’re in for a surprise. Those of you who are awaiting Might & Magic Heroes VII will be entering a second beta that will be scheduled for August 26th, 2015.

With the series having been around for 20 years, Might & Magic Heroes VII will release exclusively on PC this September 29th, and will be celebrating by once more having set another standard in computer strategy titles. By combining with both a deep fantasy universe and a completely strategy filled experience, the game fills in with a largely depth-filled RPG experience and a strong story that helps back it up with a ever-more detailed world compared to many known titles as before.

After having had a rather successful closed beta the first time around, Ubisoft and the team have decided that they will run a second one on August 26th to September 2nd. In this time frame, those who play will get to test out part of the Shadow Council initiative, which will allow for fans to test out the extra factions that are included in this beta. That will include the Sylvan and the Dungeon whom will now storm across the battlefield in the second phase of the beta.

After the success of the first closed beta, a second closed beta will take place on August 26 and will run untilSeptember 2. As part of the Shadow Council initiative, players had the opportunity to choose the extra factions that will be included in the second closed beta. As a result, Sylvan and Dungeon will storm in as the two new factions for this second phase of the beta.
