Far Cry is a series that continues to impress time and time again, bringing in terrifying villains who defy the world we know, giving us more than just a small chip on their shoulder, but a true sense of real-world terror. The Mandalorian and Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito set to play the main antagonist.
Ever since Far Cry 5 and its follow-up standalone expansion, Far Cry: New Dawn, a lot of fans have been waiting for the next big adventure the series would have to offer. Now, it seems that experience is just over the horizon with today’s accidental leak from the PlayStation Store, which has loosely confirmed release date for the game on PlayStation 4, with a PlayStation 5 upgrade being offered at no additional charge.
The release date, according to the leak, will see Far Cry 6 release on February 18th, 2021, and will see famed actor Giancarlo Esposito, known for his roles as Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad as well as Better Call Saul, Thomas Hagan in Malcolm X, and as Moff Gideon in Season 1 of Disney’s series The Mandalorian.

Now, he will be taking on the role of Anton Castillo, a vicious and brutal dictator of the tropical paradise known as Yara. His intent is clear, he wants to take his nation back to its former glory by any means necessary with his son named Diego. Their ruthless oppression is clear and has ignited a revolution across the lands.
In the listing, it has been revealed that fans will take on there ole of Dani Rojas, a local Yaran, who has become a guerilla fighter and seeks to liberate the nation of Yara from the Castillo family. The listing states that Far Cry 6 will have “the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches, and Esperanza the capital city of Yara.”
The listing also states that players will “employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground,” which shouldn’t come as a surprise as the game has been confirmed by the official Far Cry account on Twitter ahead of Ubisoft’s upcoming UbiForward showcase, set to take place on July 12th, 2020.

The new leak also has fans wondering: Is Diego actually Vaas? The similarities with the eyebrow scar does seem to hint that Far Cry 6 could actually be a prequel of sorts.
