During today’s New Game+ Expo, companies such as NIS America took to the online communities in order to announce some upcoming releases, one of which is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 later this year. Here’s a look at what they revealed.
There’s no doubt that a lot of us are feeling the absence of several of this year’s biggest gaming conventions including GDC, E3 2020, and even QuakeCon 2020 next to each of the PAX events that have all been canceled.
It has created a rift, one where we’ve been unsure how this year would proceed, however, in light of the effects COVID-19 has had on us as a whole, we’ve somehow managed to overcome and conquer where we never thought we could. One such way has been digital expos where developers band together, revealing their games in real-time online events.
One such expo just happens to be the New Game+ Expo, which focused on Japanese publishers and developers. NIS America was one of the many there and today, they revealed several big hitters that will all be coming out in 2020 and 2021.
One of the biggest is the latest in the Ys series, which will see Adol Christin once more return to a world far from his own. He is transformed into a Monstrum within the Prison City of Balduq where he will have to work towards stopping the Grimwald Nox, allying with fellow Monstrum and discovering the city’s secrets along the way.
NIS America has confirmed the game is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch with a release yet to be announced for 2021. The series will return to its former action-RPG roots once again and giving fans something to look forward to when it hits the shelves. Just keep your eyes out for that beautiful “Pact Edition” that will be coming to Nintendo Switch.
Alongside their big announcement of the upcoming Ys title, NIS America didn’t stop there as they went into further depth about the upcoming Trails of Cold Steel IV release, which is set to release on October 27th, 2020, in North America for PlayStation 4. The title will see the New Class VII members utilizing their strength and determination to face the imminent threats that will face them.
As you can see from the trailer above, NIS America isn’t holding back and their next title is another heavy hitter for fans of action-RPGs and side scrolls, which comes with the Fallen Legion series.
Now, prepare to take another gander at another title coming in 2021 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch with the newly announced Fallen Legion Revenants, which will take place in a world that is covered in a miasma. The remnants of mankind have taken refuge in a floating castle ruled by a madman, leaving the world to be ruled by manipulated events within the Welkin Castle while taking control of Lucien when you aren’t fighting off hordes of monsters in the wastelands below as the brave and vengeful Rowena.
The twists and turns are surely going to be hitting over the course of the next year as NIS America dishes out multiple hard-hitting titles.
