With March Madness having finally arrived, college basketball fans across the states are preparing to cheer their teams on as the season begins to come to a wrap. However, what happens when id Software, the minds behind DOOM and Quake Champions gets involved? You get their own personal event called “Mars Madness”, a tournament based on fans votes to see what demon they think will win it all and send the others packing back to Hell.

Since its release, DOOM has become one of the most renowned titles since its reboot in 2016, followed by a Switch version and a VR version adoringly titled DOOM VFR. Since then id Software and their publisher, Bethesda have been hard at work keeping fans entertained through the use of social media, update 6.66, which released all of the games DLC to all owners of the game, free of charge.

With E3 quickly approaching, we can only hope that this little event could be leading to something much bigger, such as a possible tease of things to come when the fan-driven “Mars Madness” social media pole comes to an end later this month. You can vote between the Master Mind and Unwilling on their latest poll to see who wins.
