The Xbox One X is not a small deal by any means. It is a powerhouse, one that not even Sony had possibly foreseen doing what it has, and bringing native 4K gameplay to a living room near you. In order to prove that they have what it takes for 4K gaming, Microsoft has doubled down, and has shown an exemplary display of love for video games.

Developers supporting 4K native gaming have even released free Xbox One “Enhanced” patches, making games run faster, look better, and show just what the Xbox One X is all about. However, one company seemed amiss from all of the day one patching that Xbox One X games received: Blizzard Entertainment.

To help offset this, Windows Central had the fortunate chance to ask Blizzard if they planned on doing any Xbox One X enhancements to their smash-hit title Overwatch seeing as Destiny 2 published by Activision already had. The company’s response?

Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens. The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X. It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen. We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.

At this time, however, it seems that Overwatch won’t have the Xbox One X enhanced patch out immediately, but it definitely goes to show that the team is extremely excited to enhance their game. After all, who doesn’t want to see Reinhardt escort the payload in 4K resolutions? Luckily for us, this has been a great month for Overwatch since Moira has finally landed on the PTR and is a delight to play. You can check out her trailer below.
