One Tamriel Launches for The Elder Scrolls Online for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

teso_witches_festival_hallowjackchapters_1476364448

Updates are always something we look forward to when it comes to our games. The Elder Scrolls Online has received the one update we’ve been waiting about since QuakeCon 2016. This update drastically changes the game and allows players to once more experience the world of Tamriel in a new way as the free update is now available for all players.

The new update changes the game title to One Tamriel, which allows players to have an unforeseen freedom in this title. With the game having a rather large world to explore, fans can now find themselves once more playing together, and conversing in this new large scale world that level-scales to the player. This means that players can now go anywhere, with anyone, at any time from the moment they leave the games tutorial no matter what Alliance players serve under.

However, in retrospect, this does change when it comes to PvP, which will put players in a restricted sense once more. However, doing quests, dungeons, trials, and more does not restrict players based on faction.

Check out some of the patch notes for more information:teso_witches_festival_cauldronfinal_1476364444

  • Dueling: Players can now battle each other anywhere outside Cyrodiil to test their skills and builds and claim bragging rights as the toughest adventurer
  • Zone Overhaul: All zones have been redesigned for a mix of solo and group play with improved bosses and standardized difficulty
  • Dungeons: All dungeons can be played in normal and veteran mode, where story is separated from difficulty and players are battle-leveled to allow players of different levels to play together, and receive level-appropriate loot
  • Craglorn: The massive Craglorn zone has been redesigned to make it solo-friendly but still the go-to location for group content
  • Loot: Loot in zones has now been standardized like dungeon loot, making it possible to acquire specific sets in specific zones at whatever level you are when completing quests

New players can get the recently released The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition, which includes the main game as well as all four major DLC Game Packs — Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood – for only $59.99 by visitinghttp://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/joinus.

QuakeCon Has Wrapped Up, but the Memories are Here to Stay

Alas Quakecon 2016 has come to an end – It was a great three days. When you first walked into the exhibit hall you were at a stage where you could compete in the DOOM “Unto the Evil” Death Match Tournament. The screens were set so spectators could watch the action from the front of the stage – it is a great DLC that I will have to get here soon.

Thermaltake had their booth decked as usual. We’ve been looking at expanding our reviews to do more PC gaming and at the beginning of our adventure – the Thermaltake Core P5 Case had my interest. Once our adventure ended – the Core P3 case became the case of choice. Shannon Robb was a tremendous help in closing our decision. He had a P3 set up very close to what we’d been speccing and it will work perfectly for what we know.

In the back of the exhibit hall Bethesda had a short Doom and Fallout 4 VR example you could play. One that relied on the HTC Vive. I had never tried to play a game with the Vive VR headset. Those two games are excellent normally, but the VR took it to a whole different level of intensity. It will be a must down the road when they are available.

The people of DXRacer were there again this year. I love the look of their chairs. I sat in several during the event. These gaming chairs are special – they are made in many sizes with a decent enough price range between each type. I found two, both of which I really liked and took notes. Later this fall we are going to order one and do a review on it. We will start with how hard it is to assemble and then a follow up on how it is holding up and how we feel about it.

There were several new games there again this year. The one that caught my eye was Dusk by New Blood Interactive. It’s a fast paced first person shooter – one, in which, I loved the retro look and feel of. There isn’t much story, but there is a lot of stuff that needs killed.

There were several seminars we attended. All of them were well thought out and the panels very informative as to what went into gaming, development, and story writing. We will have articles on those in the coming days.

When you’re at QuakeCon you always have to go by Modders Inc – the builds they have on display are always top notch and the best of the best on the floor. I love going over because I can ask whatever question I have and they try to answer it. They’ve never treated me with the look of “that was a dumb question”, and I know I’ve asked several of those. Instead they are happy to share their knowledge so you can do your build and just enjoy your PC builds and gaming.

We did see three games coming up that will have to be on the get list. We saw trailers for Prey, Dishonored 2 and Quake Champions. All three of these looked great. Dishonored 2 will be out this year on 11/11/16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Prey and Quake Champions is a bit further out. I can’t wait to see more on these titles.

Last, but not least, I want to thank all the people and sponsors that put this on each year. Without the companies like Alienware, Bethesda, id Software, DXracer, Nvidia and everyone I missed, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this.

QuakeCon Day 1 Recap – A Glimpse of a Beautiful Future

Prey_TalosI_QC16_logo_1470345850

It’s a nice day here in Dallas, Texas, one that has brought hundreds of gamers together to move among the crowd in unison. With plenty of games to see such as Dusk by New Blood, Shadow Warrior 2 as well as Strafe by Devolver Digital, DOOM (2016) on Vulkan API, and even The Elder Scrolls Legends for fans to enjoy. Among the group of vendors, exhibitors, and showings, Bethesda has once more brought the largest LAN party in North America together again. With games such as Dishonored 2, Fallout 4 VR, DOOM VR, and even Quake Champions on the way, the lineup is huge for fans to expect.

As the event opens, we are given a warm welcome by Tim Willits, a man that brings the event to life with Pete Hines. With much of this, we’ve learned that there will be upcoming panels, giveaways, and even more as the weekend gets underway. As a kickoff, we are introduced to many of the sponsors for the event such as AMD, Nvidia, id Software, and many more as the event begins to come to life.

TESLegends_E316_Still_5_1465778610

The focus this year isn’t just at what makes QuakeCon live outside of the fans, but it’s also the fact that fans have come across the country to make this happen – the fans that serve as volunteers. With QuakeCon remaining as big as it is, we learn that it’s not just the fans and teh volunteers, but the vendors, the companies that want to get their product out. The community itself is what helps make this event live the way it does.

As the stage lights up Pete Hines, VP of PR & Marketing steps out onto the stage. As his opening speech begins, he welcomes in the volunteers for this year in order to recognize them for their hardwork they will do. With games coming up in the VR booths such as The Elder Scrolls: Legends, which is upcoming for PC, Android, MAC, and Linux. Guess what makes this even better? The best part? It’s going Open Beta for PC as of today. Yes, that’s right. All you have to do is head over to the website in order to play the game.

As this news breaks? Pete goes on to let us know that Prey will be getting a new trailer here at QuakeCon. Doing so we are given a glimpse of a screen opening up to display the future we will see. One that is grim, dark, and troubled as our protagnist walks out, pistol in hand, our character? Morgan warns us about what is happening – a nightmare that is happening – a place where their is no room for uncertainty, there is no room for mistakes – this is the reality and humanity is lost. To fix it? Someone must die in order to save humanity. As the trailer ends, Pete once more comes to stage to inform us of the that the QuakeCon Trials are once more live. This includes Fallout Shelter on PC, Dishonored, DOOM, and even the Elder Scrolls: Legend.

With DOOM having released this year, they have announced that DOOM’s Eye on the Prize, which just reuqires attendees to wear a DOOM shirt. That’s all- it’s that easy. With DOOM also being the big game, the SnapMap Jam also gets underway starting Friday and Saturday between 12-4pm. With it being a big title, there’s prizes to win. With this news? Attendee’s will also be getting this free in order to enjoy the new content. This also comes with news of sales that include games up to 60% off for fans that don’t have them.

quakecon_amazon

This news also comes with what donations people make by purchasing games through Amazon or partners will go to partners of theirs. With this news ending, Marty Stratton takes to the stage in order to talk about what’s going on with id Softwares latest work on DOOM. With DOOM being a critical acclaim by the press, the fans, and more. They recognize both forums and critics, but also the development team for the games success. As he discusses this, he also recognizes the fans love and passion for what they have worked on. He takes note the game has been getting a good size amount of new and additional content as it comes out. Some of this includes the new multiplayer DLC 01 called “Unto the Evil” releasing today and will be playable by those who have been waiting for it. The pack includes new maps Cataclysm, Offering, and itual. All Hell themed maps. One is a new weapon called the new Kinetic Mine and the AUC EMG pistol and the new Demon titled “The Harvester”, which many will remember fro the base game.

The screen dims, we get a look at Dishonored 2, giving us a look at a world much different than the one we had gotten to know. With whales in the water and a boat headed to shore titled the “Dreadful Wale”, we’ve gotten a glimpse of what has happened to the world. With the future of the city gturning grim, we once more get to learn we will be under taking the roles of Corvo for this mission view in the world set before us. His future is grim, dark, but memorable as he once more gives glimpse of his skills as an assassin using his weapons and his teleport entitled “Blink”. We’ve also gotten a glimpse at his capabilities as a figther. This includes abilities such as possession, his ability to take over the enemy, but also his ability to sneak past his foes. As his assination target comes into play, we learn that Corbo remains as a master assassin in a world that is grim, a world that is dark, and quite easily troubled. With slow time remaining possible, his chance to be as deadly as ever remains true. His enemies? Set aflame with his incendiary bolts before being taken out by Corvo.

Dishonored_2_QC_01_1470339134.png

Like before, the verticality in the world plays a major role as Corvo displays his need to continue his status in the world. To right wrongs, and to fix what has troubled the world around him. His combat prowess is deadlier than ever as he takes out his target Paolo, as he assists his new group – the Overseers, which players can side with. Dishonored 2 will be out November 11th. As the gameplay comes to an end – Pete Hines reminds us that the imgarey that people take with the cameras and phones is not allowed. As he finishes Raphael Colantonio and Ricardo Bare come to the stage to tell us about their upcoming title – Prey.

For those new to the game, it is a much different take on the title we knew before. Prey this time takes place on a Space Station titled Talis 1, one where a new project has gone underway, but as it does? Something has gone wrong: Aliens have invaded. These Aliens are hunting our main protagonist. With the game being open world, we’ve learned that the game will take the approaches we’ve never seen before, which doesn’t change much from the direction we could have imagined. The beauty of it? The world is deadly, it is alive, but it is also barren of the world where we wanted. A lockdown has occured, which leaves our protagonist fighting enemies such as weapons, but we’ve learned that weapons are rare, they aren’t as easily obtainable as one would hope.

This gives the element of ideology that the world of it exists. We’ve learned players will grab new abilities called Neuromods. This will allow players to upgrade their character to fit their playstyle as they do. The upgrades can be made by human while some can be directly learned from the aliens themselves. With weapons such as the Gloo Gun being capable of being around, we’ve learned the game will make it so that the player can freeze enemies in place, use an alien power, and even turn ourselves into things such as coffee cups with the Mimic ability. The Gluu gun itself can also be made for players to create their own path as they explore the world around them. With enemies around the corner, players will have to be readily aware for combat with weapons such as the shotgun, which can bring players down to fighting for survivability. With a weapon and ability wheel at their disposal, fans can easily get underway with what they are doing. A weapon titled the recicyling charge, players can gather ingredients to craft what they need. This also can open up paths they will need in order to explore the world around them.

Prey in this era will change heavily from the one we knew, and even become its own entity for players to enjoy. It will be a game that sets into a genre that fans of Bioshock, Dishonored, and even System Shock will enjoy quite a bit. Especially with items being fabricated for their use. Prey is a promising glimpse of open exploration of freedom as the demo takes us forth into outer space, where players can see a place to explore – an open world scifi experience that requires awareness of O2 and their supplies to keep alive. Abilities can be upgraded for players to use, making them more effective, more powerful, and even attract the attention of deadly enemies. This will be a game that will be a must have for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 owners when it launches in 2017.

Fallout 4’s Future Has Been Outlined and it Involves Vaults

Fallout4_NukaWorld_E3_02_1465776998

If you ever wondered what more insanity could come to Fallout 4, tonight has made your wonders come to an end as Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard has outlined the future of the title. Let alone does this include some new tools for you to use such as Elevators, Conveyor Belts, and the likes. This future also includes a new theme park entitled Nuka World that’ll be just what it sounds like; a theme park. Let alone does it launch near or with the Contraption’s DLC, we also got a look at one DLC that just may have stolen the show.

2D Boxshot Wizard v1.1

Boxshot Wizard file used for creating global boxshots

The DLC that definitely caught the eyes of fans was the newly announced “Vault-Tec Workshop” DLC that will allow fans to create their own Vault. Let alone do they get to do this from the ground up, players will also be able to create what their Vault’s scientific goals are. Whether this is testing their vaults prowess in physique, substance uses, or even just all around to have one, the Vaults seem to be ones that can easily be invaded. If anything? It sounds like our dreams for Fallout Shelter being apart of Fallout 4 itself. If that’s the case? Expect some fun, weird, and delightful moments.

As of now the DLC does not have dates, but we are sure they’ll be coming soon as mods have just landed on Xbox One and later this month for PlayStation 4. Stay tuned for more updates.

Quake Champions Brings Back the Old With the New

QUAKE_CHAMP_2D_CLEAN_4K_001_WHT_RED_1465778579

Remember the old days when you were growing up fragging your friends in the school computer lap? You don’t? Well our memories may be very different. As of today, Bethesda Zenimax has announced that Quake Champions will be opening up an entirely new approach to competitive multiplayer, tournaments, and the arena play styles we’ve come to know. It was a title that solidified eSports in a way never known to any over the deacdes. In development between id Software and Saber Interactive, Quake Champions.

The new title will feature characters with unique attributes, abilities, and even their own distinctive play styles. For fans familiar with Quake III Arena,  the PC community will once more get to take place with 120hz graphics, unlocked frame rates, and a game that will fill that spot that every gamer has been wanting.

20 years ago, Quake set new standards for multiplayer competition and pushed the boundaries for graphics and gameplay,” said Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software. “It’s important to all of us at id Software that Quake Champions remains true to the Quake legacy, and delivers the speed and gameplay our long-time fans expect, while also pressing forward by introducing innovative gameplay opportunities with new Champions and abilities.

With more than 20 years of Quake veterans under the titles belt, the series will once more be pushing players to their max ability with its upcoming launch. Bethesda Zenimax’s E3 Announcements Could Be Huge – What We Expect May Be There

You probably already read our article about BE3 starting tomorrow for Bethesda Zenimax. You may also already know? They’ve released one of this years biggest titles already that has kept me reeling in demon’s for the slaughter and even has kept me busy from finishing my review for the multiplayer of DOOM. If that’s not enough? We also have been hammering out plenty of their possible titles that could be coming out and ones we know are. With the announcement they’ll be showcasing entirely new games this year, we’ve decided to take down a list of things we know will be there since they are about to release, and ones we expect could be the announced titles for this year. If it’s good to say anything now? We know id Software may have something to showcase pertaining to DOOM or an entirely new title all together.

So what games can we lean towards being there for sure? It wouldn’t be a surprise if we got to see a few announcements regarding content updates for both DOOM, Fallout 4 as well as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Why? These games are the hot cookies for Bethesda Zenimax right now. However, all this can change when the announcements start rolling out tomorrow. So what exactly can we expect out of them outside of new content for the previously mentioned titles? Lets take a look at sequel possibilities first.

Prey 2

screenshot-prey2-01

Originally announced back in 2011, Prey 2 was slated as an ambitious futuristic title that would have sated the masses that wanted a new cyberpunk-esque title. Prey 2 would have taken us on the road as Killian Samuels, a U.S. Marshal who had started out on a passenger flight, which just suddenly happened to crash into the Sphere (recall the plane crash in Prey back on PC or 360? Direct reference). Ending with a short lived battle against a few aliens, which he lost by default, Samuels returns several years later as a bounty hunter on the alien world known as Exodus. Even though he has remained aware of his past, Samuels has also gained some new skills, and has also been thought to be the only human on Exodus until he runs into former protagonist Tommy Domasi. Unfortunately due to his memory loss, Samuels doesn’t remember Domasi at all, and resumes on his way.

With the title having gone through development for quite some time before being cancelled, it won’t be surprising to see if Bethesda Zenimax lets this title return to us in a new format, and hopefully an open world one utilizing the astonishing id Tech 6 engine we got to know with DOOM. With all the buzz circling the title? There’s a good chance we’ll hear something about it with E3 kicking off for Bethesda today.

Rage 2

TheScorchers01

While the series has been dead in the dark for quite sometime, Rage remains one of Bethesda Game Studio’s most beloved title to have come out of id Studio since DOOM 3 and the recently released DOOM (2016). Rage, for those unfamiliar with it, takes place on Earth after most of the world has been wiped out by an asteroid that just happened to target Earth head-on. With a few survivors in cryogenic stasis in special units, a few people managed to hide underground unscathed. While Life on the outside remained normal for most survivors, some have turned into gangs, cannibals, and all around psycho’s while the existing “government” wants survivors for their own reasons if they are coming out of the cryochambers.

While it sounds outdated, the open-world FPS title could very well turn into a rather influential and positive series. With DOOM having proven there’s still love for such titles, even though DOOM is more of an FPS, the possibility for a sequel is fully there. The question now is? Will Bethesda take us once more into their non-nuclear post-apocalypse with a new title from id Software? We’ll see.

Quake (Reboot)

quake2_Sc01

Riding on the heels of DOOM’s success, it wouldn’t be surprising to see id Software take another spin with the fan favored Quake franchise. Fortunately for us? That means that Quake will be done the way a remake should be done and their success with DOOM proves they have the resources to do it. Quake, as many know, is one of the most influential arena shooters out there when it comes to multiplayer. Much like its online, the campaigns have always been fast, furious, bigger, better, and even more drenched in blood than ever. Unlike DOOM, however, Quake doesn’t offer up demon’s from Hell, but instead the twisted and menacing mysterious enemy force known as “Quake”, which are extra-dimensional being’s seeking to wipe out humanity. Later this involved an enemy foce known as the “Strogg”, which were half human and machine combined to make a lethal force.

While the idea of seeing a Quake reboot in the plausible future might not be realistic, we know that DOOM’s dev team has been hard-on-heels to flesh out the minor bugs, and working on the multiplayer DLC to bring more fresh content to the PvPer’s that have been at DOOM for countless hours since its launch.

The Elder Scrolls VI

the_elder_Scrolls_Valenwood

While there have been many “leaks” stating Argonia or Valenwood are next? I’m hard-pressed to believe we may see a new title announced this soon, especially with the success rate of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, and its constant updating with new content. Granted the content ranges between $20-$30, it’s popular. While it has been stated they’ll be releasing a new entry in the series, it’ll be interesting to see the elven lands of Valenwood in the flesh with its own standalone title outside of The Elder Scrolls Online.

We can only predict the new title will be using many of the mechanics from the Fallout 4 engine as well as the Fallout 4 engine itself with possible mod support in the future, just like Fallout 4. If this title is announced? We’re sure it’ll have a lot shown later this year at QuakeCon while we are only teased a glimpse of it at E3.

The Evil Within 2

The_Evil_Within_Logo

If Tango Gameworks didn’t screw with your mind the first time, we’re not surprised if Shinji Mikami and his team won’t try again. After the success of their first title, a masterpiece of horror, mind you, we can only hope they’re working on a follow up. With the first title having left many questions behind what was going on and the long term effects of the experimentation’s that lead up to the games major events, we can only keep our fingers cross hoping the effects were more widespread than we thought.

While it will be hard for Shinji in his team to surpass their spectacular work from the first time around, we can hope that Shinji is looking for new ways to make our skin crawl outside of rooms made out of giant porcelain baby doll faces. Excuse me while I find a blanket to hide under.

While we can speculate across the countless franchises that Bethesda Game Studios produces, we already know there’s a few we’re half expecting to be at E3, and a few that may just surprise us if they are. So lets take a look at the games we’re sure will be there with some new content and a bit more information regarding them.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored_2_Still

Following up the works of Corvo, we know that Ms. Emily isn’t the little royalty we thought she would grow up to be, not after her family was assassinated infront of her and her guardian framed for it. With Corvo having retired from his “civic” duties, Emily is now well on her way to mastering her prowess as an assassin while wielding the mask and even grappling with mastering her equipment and abilities. Dishonored 2 by Arkane Studios has been one of the most anticipated first-person open-world titles that takes us into a beautifully portrayed steampunk world that fuses both modern sensibilities with colonial beauty.

While the title is slated for a release later this year, we’re highly anticipating finalized gameplay and new additions prior to the games release this week.

Fallout 4: DLC/Mod Support

Fallout_4_Automatron_pre-release_4

We know that Fallout 4 is taking the sand-box world by storm since it’s bridging the gap between consoles and PC with mod support. Launching here shortly on Xbox One and later on PlayStation 4, we know mods have been a big deal with the franchise. Be it upped graphics, appearance items, new gameplay mechanics, companions, even some more adult-oriented content; Mods are a huge deal. With Fallout 4 it’d be surprising not to see something in regards to another large DLC along the scope of Far Harbor, which has recently been released for all platforms, and is rather enjoyable with the framerate fixes for consoles.

Since DLC’s are this games big deal, we’ll most-likely see something in regards to this manner. What we see? Now that’s the mystery.

Closing Thoughts

While the list of games we could see announced already and existing is slim, we know titles like DOOM, Dishonored 2, and Fallout 4 will more than likely be there, Bethesda Zenimax has a lot of ammunition up their sleeves. The question is now? How much of it will they spend before QuakeCon this year or will we be seeing it all at once with touch-ups on previous announcements? Right now it’s all wait and see.

I want you to meet my new friend Ada. Ada doesn’t have much of the personality as you or I would. Hers is much different as my new friend Ada is made from nuts, bolts, metal, and an adaptive A.I., which “feels” emotions in a way much different than you and I. She is also one that is extremely upset with the fact her friends have been killed. So now I’m helping my new friend Ada take down her new sworn enemy “The Mechanist” who has begun to send their evil robots across the Commonwealth in order to “save” humanity in a way they see fit as proper. In turn, it’s become my duty to save the people of the Commonwealth in a way that is much different than how the robots sent by the Mechanist do. My way has become more preserved, safer, and well; requires me to take out enemy robots in order to build my own or even upgrade my new friend Ada.

Destroying robots has begun to become a very common thing in Fallout 4, something that has remained highly highly important to the fallout series. One that is now a staple-point in Fallout 4 with the release of Fallout 4’s DLC “The Automatron”. If you’re a fan of Fallout 4, you already know how insane the DLC can get. You are well aware that Fallout 4 is a game that is all about preservation of the Commonwealth and protecting its citizens from enemy threats such as Synths, Super Mutants, Raiders, and the likes, but what happens when a bunch of crazed robots get thrown in the mix? As the first installment to the Fallout 4 Season Pass, the DLC “Automatron” offers up a bang-for-the-buck approach due to the sheer amount of gameplay within the DLC. As only a $10 USD DLC, it was hard to expect just a whole lot from what the DLC contains.

As one would expect from a Fallout DLC, Automatron offers up an entirely new storyline that takes players to go up against the new Villain named “The Mechanist”. In this DLC players look at stopping the newest threat, an onslaught of killer robots that are raising trouble across the Commonwealth, and in turn we are implored to help a robot by the name of “Ada” who has watched her friends get heartlessly cut down by some of the Mechanists robots. As this happens we are hired on to help this new companion and help keep the Commonwealth safe from a flood of killer robots. In turn players are then sent on a quest that to some may just feel like a side quest, and a lengthy one at that. One that does feel it could have been found in the main game if it were made to have been there like that in the first place.

After having moved on to help Ada, we learn that our new adventure wouldn’t just take us to fight some big new troublemaker, but instead it would take us across some rather familiar territories that will take players to fight new enemies such as the Rust Devil’s who pack up a few new types of armour, new robots to fight, and a whole lot more fun when dispatching their groups in large numbers. The most unique thing about these new villains is not the fact they have teamed up with groups of killer and sadistic looking robots, but the fact they are also wearing robotic armor that offers a unique twist in this 1950’s post-apocalyptic paradise.

Unlike Fallout 3’s unique DLC’s such as “Operation Anchorage” or even “Mothership Zeta”, Fallout 4’s Automatron takes on a twist of former DLC’s that we’ve not seen for quite some time. Spinning what we once knew on its head, Fallout 4 takes the approach to storytelling in what one would assume as a 1950’s Robotic Sci-Fi flick while keeping characters in a unique design so that players will find themselves thoroughly enjoying this DLC. In turn, it provides as stated, a good 3-4 hours of enjoyment for those that want to dig through every crook and cranny to find all the games hidden items and logs. For those wanting a unique adventure, here’s one coming your way in and one that is very worthwhile.
