Nintendo has not been unsurprising with their massive barrage of digital games each week. This time it’s even bigger with their new sales and titles available. What’s the ones to eyeball this week? Titles such as ‘Stealth Inc 2: A game of Clones’, Costume Quest 2 (just in time for Halloween) as those new eShop titles. So what else is there? Remember a classic called DEMON’S CREST that introduced Firebrand the Gargoyle? It is now available via the Virtual Console for Wii U, but it’s not alone with games such as Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. These few games are ones to highly look forwards to as they are followed up  by several other titles launching close behind them thanks to Nintendo’s persistence in game launches be them physical or digital. Let alone did they release a few games, but they’ve also got some amazing sales that can not be missed. For those that haven’t had the chance to experience it; Resident Evil Revelation’s and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries are both currently more than 50% off this week on the Nintendo eShop for both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Please note that the sale for Resident Evil Revelation’s ends on the 4th of November at 8:59am PDT. Wii U users can also get Blok Drop U for $0.99 cents until 8:59am November 26th. Other titles on sale that are on sale for 25-30% off include both Disney Frozen Olaf’s Quest and Quell Reflect. both will end and are priced at 19.99 USD for Olaf’s until 11/7 and 2.79 USD until 11/6.

Prepare for the Return of Bayonetta on the Wii U

Bayonetta 2 Cover Art

PlatinumGames and Nintendo are prepared to bring back their renowned title that is breathtaking, out of control, stylish, beautiful, and critically acclaimed. This is the only way one should think of Bayonetta and now its sequel; Bayonetta 2. With the launch of Bayonetta on October 24th, 2014; Platinum Games seeks to help launch another large title on the Nintendo Wii U. This newest entry to this series seeks to bring in more intense action, massive set pieces and the beautiful graphics that Bayonetta has become known and loved for.

This time around she is more powerful now that she is wielding new moves, combos, weapons, and powers. This carries across both the single player as well as the games new entry into multiplayer where players will hunt down to take down both angels and demons in order to save one of her friends from damnation.

“The action-game geniuses at PlatinumGames have done it again. Bayonetta 2 is the kind of exclusive game that fans are going to devour like Halloween candy,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With its challenging but rewarding game play and over-the-top content,Bayonetta 2 proves the depth and diversity of the library of games that can only be played on Wii U.”

Like before, Bayonetta will return with her chic glasses, magical hair, and those dangerous gun-filled high heels that seek to put her enemies out of their misery. These features are what makes her a rather memorable, but also original characters developed in recent years. This time around players will once more be running down buildings, off walls, on falling parts of land, but also on the wings of a fighter jet. These are not unusual for the well crafted and beautiful set pieces that PlatinumGames has planned for this Friday in North America. On these planned set pieces, players will journey through the campaign while being scored. The scores will range from room-for-improvement Stone medal to the hard to earn Pure Platinum.

Don’t want to take this game on alone? Players can go through the online co-op mode with friends using their broadband connections in order to destroy the legions of angels and demons that seek to put the stunning Bayonetta out of her misery. They will be able to do this by choosing from a variety of characters from the game itself. Don’t forget to work on getting those Verse Cards as you journey through the main campaign so that you can continue through the Tag Climax stages.

Additionally for those who do purchase the game at the 59.99 USD will get a definitive edition of Bayonetta to go along side your purchase of Bayonetta 2, this is at a fully discounted price. For those that decide to go through the eShop to save the trip, you can get both versions digitally through the Nintendo Wii U eShop for 59.98 USD. This includes in-game costumes that will be original for both Bayonetta entries. These is exclusive to the Nintendo brand characters such as Princess Peach, Samus Aran, and Link. These costumes aren’t just for show and tell though; they feature unique game changes that are said to be fun, unique, and unexpected. So what are some examples regarding these? Princess Peach can summon Bowser’s hands and feet instead of her rather well known  demons. Using Link’s costume? Listen for a rather familiar chime after solving puzzles. These are only a few of the changes that players can expect to enjoy through their adventure.

For more information regarding Bayonetta’s upcoming release please visit the official Nintendo Website for this game:  http://bayonetta2.nintendo.com.

Jade Raymond Twitter

Yesterday morning we received an email that had stated that Jade Raymond, founder of Ubisoft Toronto has parted away from the company, and in turn she is pursuing new careers. In this transition, Ubisoft has appointed Alexandre Parizeau to the position of Managing Director of the Toronto Studio. During Raymond’s time at Ubisoft, she was most well known for her roles as producer on the first Assassin’s Creed title (2004-2007), but also served as the executive producer on Assassin’s Creed 2 (2008-2009) and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist (2010-2013). She had also opened the Ubisoft Toronto studio where she served as the managing director of it since 2009. This is the very role she is turning over to Mr. Alexandre Parizeau starting October 29th, 2014.

“I’ve spent 10 extraordinary years at Ubisoft, and I am proud to have been part of many of the best teams in the industry making truly remarkable games,” said Raymond. “This is one of the hardest decisions of my career, but the Toronto studio is strong and on a solid path. I’m confident that now is a good time for me to transition leadership of the studio to Alex and to pursue my other ambitions and new opportunities. Stay tuned for more on what’s next for me, but for now, I’d like to thank Ubisoft for its partnership through the years, and I wish them the very best in all their next endeavors.”

With her career spanning over 15 years in the gaming industry, Alexandre Parizeau will be demonstrating his capabilities as part of the studio’s core members, but also his capabilities as a team builder and leader. Within his timeframe he worked on projects such as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Black List, Splinter Cell Conviction, but also Rainbow Six. All of these he served as producer and or senior producer on their projects. As he transitions into this position, he will be reporting to Yannis Mallat, Ubisoft’s CEO of the Montreal and Toronto studios. Mallat will oversee the continued growth and continuation as a game development location. In turn, Mallat will also help oversee and be a key contributor to some of the biggest brands to come out of Ubisoft. This also includes and is not limited to titles that have yet to be announced.

“On behalf of Ubisoft, I’d like to thank Jade for her leadership and many contributions over the years, and wish her all the best in her next adventures,” said Mallat. “The Toronto studio is a key part of the Ubisoft global network, and Alex has been at the heart of the studio’s growth over the years. He was the obvious choice to lead this talented group of people as they continue to develop amazing games.”

More information about Ubisoft Toronto can be found here for those who wish to read more about the studio itself: http://toronto.ubisoft.com/en

Special Note from the author: We at Blast Away the Game Review want to congratulate Jade Raymond on her accomplishments and the amazing titles she had worked on. We also can’t wait to see what her future holds. We would also like to welcome Alexandre Parizeau into the newly obtained position and can’t wait to see what comes out.
