Since its release three weeks ago, Elden Ring has sold more than 12 million units, in the latest report for Bandai Namco. The story and world crafted by famed author George R.R. Martin and game development studio, FromSoftware, only continues to keep offering more surprises.
Even as we continue to work on our review playthrough of Elden Ring, it’s not hard to see why it has sold more than 12 million units in the three weeks it has been available. The game continues to offer surprises, content, and plenty more for fans to enjoy. Since its release, Elden Ring has continued to receive new content, patches, and plenty more in such a small time.
“It’s astonishing to see just how many people have been playing ELDEN RING. I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team,” said Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and CEO/Director of FROMSOFTWARE. “ELDEN RING is based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin. We hope players enjoy a high level of freedom when adventuring through its vast world, exploring its many secrets and facing up to its many threats. Thank you for your continued support.”
With more than one hundred hours played for our review, there seems to be no end in what kind of content fans can expect to find, which also includes picking up all-new armaments, incantations, and working our way through an astonishingly well-designed story-filled world.
“Co-development between FromSoftware and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has brought to life this new action-RPG, ELDEN RING, which has surpassed 12M units in sales worldwide,” added Yasuo Miyakawa, President and CEO of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. “I would like to use this opportunity to give my thanks to all our fans who have brought ELDEN RING into their gaming life. I am very proud to have been involved in bringing such a wonderful and fantastic game to life with FromSoftware, under the guidance of Director Miyazaki, and with George R. R. Martin.
Much effort was placed into creating ELDEN RING in order to exceed the expectations of our fans worldwide. With a similar goal, we will continue our efforts in expanding the brand beyond the game itself and into everyone’s daily life. We will continue to create enjoyment and fulfillment through entertainment so that we can come closer and connect to our fans around the world.”
It’s not a shocker to know why the world is brimming with secrets for players to discover ranging from lore to encounters that they may discover for years to come. Elden Ring shows just why Hidetaka Miyazaki, creator of the influential DARK SOULS series, who is joined by George R.R. Martin, the man behind The New York Times’ best-selling series, “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
With the two combining forces, they’ve created a meticulously designed world that players will spend years exploring as they seek out every secret, every bit of lore, and every bit of story that could be for years to come.
Stay tuned for our review which will be arriving next week as we dig through the all-new content updates, new lore pieces, and as much of the story as we can.
