In a bit of a surprising move, Ubisoft has delayed both Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic from their originally announced September release dates. Here’s what you need to know ahead of time.
If you were hoping to jump into the follow-up story to the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege in-game event, “Outbreak”, you’re in for a bit more of a wait. Ubisoft has announced that alongside Riders Republic, the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, won’t be making its originally intended September 16th, 2021, release date, while Riders Republic won’t hit its September 2nd, 2021, release date.
Instead, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will release in January 2022, with a firm release date planning to be announced in the future. Riders Republic has locked in on an October 28th, 2021, release date, and will be taking the extra time to finish up polishing the title.
Ubisoft has stated that they are delaying Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction in order to “bring this immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience to life as we prepare to bring you a truly unique Rainbow Six game,” they clarified on their Twitter account.
Ubisoft revealed in an official news announcement on their Ubisoft Blog, that Rainbow Six Extraction needs the time stating, “Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play.”
The delay shouldn’t be a surprise as games are being more fine-tuned than ever as of recent and the extra time will prove to be well worth the wait.
