Square Enix and Luminous Productions have revealed Forspoken, originally titled “Project Athia” as their upcoming next-gen project. Will launch in 2022.
Square Enix and Luminous Productions have officially revealed the name behind PROJECT ATHIA and will proceed with the name Forspoken. In Forspoken players will take the role of Frey Holland, an ordinary woman in a not-so-ordinary – fantastical and dangerous world – known as Athia.
In order to bring the game to life, Luminous Productions has revealed Ella Balinska as Frey, who is best-known for her role in the 2019 production of Charlie’s Angels. The upcoming title will be the video game enthusiast’s very-first title, allowing her to merge into the world of video game acting when Forspoken hits store shelves exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC in 2022.
“As the first video game I’ve worked on, and growing up a huge fan of video games myself, it’s remarkable to see the incredible world and story of Forspoken come together, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy,” said Balinska. “Frey as a character is real, she’s raw, she’s a girl who lost her way—both figuratively and literally—and is a character I immediately connected with, as I feel many people around the world will too when they set off on this adventure.”
Forspoken will be Square Enix’s second next-gen exclusive for the PlayStation 5 when it launches and will introduce fans into an entirely new franchise with mind-bending gameplay elements.
