DEATHLOOP performance features revealed for PlayStation 5

A new PlayStation Store listing confirms that Arkane Lyon’s upcoming title, DEATHLOOP, will have some PlayStation 5 exclusive features including HDR, ray-traced shadows, and plenty more. Here’s what to know.

Set to release on May 21st, 2021, DEATHLOOP from Arkane Lyon is already getting quite a bit of attention ahead in preparation for its release. It’s one of the first projects that will release since Microsoft acquired Bethesda Zenimax in a $7.2b purchase.

The title is slated to be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive with a PC release on the horizon as well. According to the new PlayStation Store listing, the game will feature 4K and 60 FPS performances with ray-traced shadows with ambient occlusion and HDR. A major first for Arkane Lyon as they prepare for their first next-gen release.

“The PS5 console brings Arkane’s unique artistic vision to life like never before, allowing players to explore the visually stunning 1960s-inspired world of DEATHLOOP in beautiful 4k at 60fps, with HDR, Ray-traced shadows and ambient occlusion, ” reads the store listing for Deahloop, something Arkane Lyon is not a stranger of thanks to previous titles such as Prey and the Dishonored franchise.

The PlayStation 5 features will include adaptive triggers, fast-loading, and haptic feedback. Fast-loading being an extremely important feature as players will find themselves dying, constantly, and resetting the loop if the challenge of the game puts their capabilities to the test.
