Lo Wang will be back in Shadow Warrior 3 as the series prepares its return along with its tongue-in-cheek humor pulled directly from its 1997 roots. Here’s what we know so far.
Let’s face it, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital know that we want more of Lo Wang’s antics. Now, it seems that the duo is prepared to show off their upcoming sequel to the 2016 release, which will once more see Jason Liebrecht fill the shoes of Lo Wang once again.
According to the press release, game director Kuba Opoń stated they are aiming for ““a completely fresh experience. We hope that Shadow Warrior 3 will feel like a homecoming for those fans that have been with us since the beginning.”
To help give fans that “completely fresh experience” that Flying Wild Hog is aiming for, Shadow Warrior 3 will find Lo Wang and his former employer working on a mission side-by-side with Orochi Zilla, allowing him to embark on a seemingly impossible mission to recapture an ancient dragon they unwilling unleashed from its eternal prison.
Well, as you can imagine, things aren’t going all that well and Lo Wang is once more turning to hits combination of blades and bullets in order to travel to uncharted parts of the world in order to track down the dark beast, stop the apocalypse, and save the world once again. Unfortunately for him, he’ll have to track down his inner archeologist as he will have to track down the mask of a dead god, a dragon’s egg, a touch of magic, and well, a lot of firepower to stop the impending apocalypse.
“For those who can ignore the overabundance of dick jokes, lewd humor, and facepalm worthy moments, you’ll find yourself in one of this generation’s most enjoyable titles. One that brings the shooter genre to life and doesn’t ignore what it was developed to do,” we stated in our review of Shadow Warrior 2.
Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hogs is set to show off more of their upcoming title during the Devolver Direct event on July 11th at 12 p.m. PT on Twitch, with more info to be released at a later date.
