Ubisoft has revealed that they are taking part in the global efforts to support those confined at home with giving away free games via Uplay as part of their way to help people socialize, even while practicing social distancing. Rayman Legends is free as of today.
Let’s face it, social distancing and staying safer at home sucks. We all know it does and those of us who have no choice but to do so, well, we’re feeling the heaviest hitting bit of that entire ordeal during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To help bring some light to our days, Ubisoft, along with other major game publishers around the world, are offering free trials and free copies of their games to help gamers pass the time in a safe and efficient manner. Ubisoft has revealed that their campaign has kicked off with the platforming title, Rayman Legends, which will see players take off in local co-op gameplay and is available for free as a digital PC download on Uplay until April 3rd.
“During these unprecedented times, video games have a role to play in bringing people around the world joy, comfort, and togetherness,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of marketing & consumer experience. “We hope that this initiative and those we’re seeing from the video game community will encourage people to play their part and play at home.”
While stay in place orders are in effect in many locations, it’s nice to see the industry giving back, helping their fans remain safe, and helping them pass the time. You can also jump into trials of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on PC today.
Ubisoft has also revealed that they are working with the worldwide game community in order to help stop the COVID-19 pandemic and to support those affected by the virus. Ubisoft has revealed that they have pledged $150,000 to the fund towards the goal of $2.8 million in global efforts.
