Do you remember the “Shadow of the Cute Raider” trailer that Square Enix made? It just went home with a Gold during the 2019 Clio Awards.

Let’s face it. We know whether we own a cat or a dog, they make our hearts melt when we see them, and the “Shadow of the Cute Raider” is one of those. If you don’t remember it, “Shadow of the Cute Raider” is a re-creation of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s trailer titled “End of the Beginning”.

The Gold award was given to “Shadow of the Cute Raider” by the Clio Awards program, which is an annual program where an international panel of advertising professionals judge such promotions as “Shadow of the Cute Raider” itself. They critique them based on advertising, design, communication as well as innovation and creative excellence.

To make “Shadow of the Cute Raider” possible, Square Enix teamed up with Barkley in a unique and creative partnership, bringing forth a trailer where a determined dog must master the deadly jungles of South America in order to defeat a villainous set of cats and rush through the jungle in order to save the world from the Mayan apocalypse.

The trailer obtained the Gold award during the Clio Awards shortly after the release of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Definitive Edition see1`s players explore the final chapter of Lara’s origin story as she becomes known as the Tomb Raider herself. In it players will work through every challenge tomb, utilize every downloadable weapon, outfit, and skill Lara has at her disposal as she seeks to prevent the Mayan Apocalypse from ending the world.
