Ubisoft has announced that the second post-launch story arc for their critically-acclaimed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, The Fate of Atlantis, will begin starting next week with ‘Fields of Elysium’.
After having only recently wrapped up the storyline for Legacy of the First Blade, Ubisoft is gearing up Assassin’s Creed Odyssey fans through the Lost City of Atlantis. The first episode will take players on a wild ride through the Greek afterlife as they seek to uncover the great mysteries that lie within the realms of the gods, potentially opening up unforeseen adventures they may experience moving forward.
In the Fields of Elysium, players will explore the paradise that is Elysium, an otherworldly place of divine beauty, but also the home to sinister secrets that hide just below the surface while players face down against the might of the Isu. In it, you’ll unlock new weapons, new armor, and even meet friends and foes in the likes of something never-before-seen.
Along with characters both new and familiar, new legendary weapons, armor sets, and gear to obtain, you will also have brand-new abilities enhancements to obtain. These new enhancements will modify currently existing abilities, giving you a chance to alter how they function, giving you an opportunity to fine-tune how they work. These new ability enhancements are divided across each branch of the skill tree, allowing you to take advantage of Hunter, Warrior, and Assassin builds throughout your time with the game.
New upgrades, which will be added over each of the episodes to the overall story arch, will include Ares Bull Charge, Might of Artemis, Kronos Time War, and Ares Madness. As one might imagine, Fields of Elysium, which releases on April 23rd, 2019, will be followed by Torment of Hades, and the final episode Judgement of Atlantis, which will complete the second story arc by mid this year.
The DLC will be available to both Season Pass and non-season pass holders on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One simultaneously. Season Pass owners can now obtain both Legacy of the First Blade, and Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and its counterpart Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered, with their season passes today, free of charge.
Here’s what you need to know in order to play, directly from our friends at Ubisoft:
“Following the main game, players will have to complete the questline Between Two Worlds, the mythological main game story arc, and Heir of Memories, the Lost Tales of Greece questline that is available after completing the former questline. Finally, they must have reached character level 28 or above.
Otherwise, players will be able to use a shortcut created specifically for those who would like to play The Fate of Atlantis and who do not fulfill all the above conditions. Thanks to this shortcut, players will enter Greece level 52 with preset Abilities and resources enabling them to start their adventure into the afterlife with the Lost Tales of Greece questline Heir of Memories. They will also have the opportunity to choose their hero. However, contrary to the previous option – players’ progression using the shortcut will not carry over to the main game save, and they will not be able to obtain achievements.”
