Overwatch could be seeing a brand new hero entering the fray sooner than later as the company has teased a brand new operative by the name of Sojourn, who appears in the audio trailer for the upcoming Archives event.
If there’s one thing we love about Overwatch, it’s how rich in lore, how human each character is, and how beautifully designed their world actually is. It’s huge, it’s beautiful, and it has boundless amounts of untapped potential that could be a key point of the game moving forward.
Today, however, marks another turning point for the game as the new event trailer for the next Archives event has already been dropped, and we have a brand new name to learn more about by the name of ‘Sojourn’. What little we know about her is rather clear.
Sojourn is an operative in the Overwatch program, she’s clearly a higher rank than Commander Jack Morrison, aka Soldier: 76, and she’s setting up an operation to capture Doomfist. She’s able to detail a mission, one which puts Tracer in lead, and the team now consists of Winston, Mercy, and Genji.
It’s very clear that she’s a high-ranking member within Overwatch. But one thing is rather clear about her. She seems to be a close friend of Soldier: 76’s, making her an important person within his life, and one that could very well influence his story moving forward. With the ability to build up her story, it’s clear that she’ll be an integral piece to the much larger puzzle moving on.
With the Overwatch: Archives – Storm Rising set to kick off on April 16th, 2019, we’ll surely be getting well acquainted with the brand new character, who we can expect to arrive later this year. With having just released Baptiste, it could be quite sometime before an official release for Sojourn is made, if it even happens.
For now, we have more questions than answers, and what exactly the Rising Storm event will have to offer in the sense of story. We’ll just have to wait and find out.
About the Writer(s):
David Murphy is B.A.T.G.R.’s behind the scenes man who helps get things up and going as well as keeping things in order. Don’t be surprised to know that the old man contributes rather heavily to editing, news, and information he digs up so that editorials, as well as articles, are done properly. He also likes Fallout… A lot. We’re not sure he’s not secretly the Vault Boy in disguise.
