Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of DOOM ripping and tearing its way through gaming history, former DOOM developer John Romero has revealed the upcoming release of his megawad as a spiritual successor to the fourth episode of the game. But now, he’s also revealed some really badass nostalgic collectibles you’ll want to consider purchasing.
While there’s already been a lot of news about John Romero’s megawad update, one thing you haven’t heard about his the collectible’s he’s about to release through Limited Run Games. But there’s more to beats these Limited/Collector’s Edition than it sounds. But what might this box contain that makes it such an iconic collector piece for DOOM fans around the world?
Well, a lot really. It’s worth noting that John Romero hasn’t hidden his love for his past projects ranging from DOOM to Daikatana – after all, he made us his bitch once already and we are absolutely fine with that. He’s not done there as he and Limited Run Games have revealed The Beast Box of SIGIL which includes… Well, it includes some really badass stuff. Just take a look for yourself.
The Beast Box of SIGIL includes the following:
- A beautiful demonic over-sized box, inspired by the id Anthology™ box, individually numbered and signed personally by John Romero and featuring the artwork of Christopher Lovell.
- A 16GB 3 1/2-inch floppy disk-themed USB that includes the free megawad data and extras.
- A 2-disc booklet styled case that includes the free megawad data and full soundtrack by
- Buckethead and behind-the-scenes information on the original game and the megawad’s development.
- A beautiful 8″ x 10″ art print signed by the illustrator, Christopher Lovell.
- A SIGIL-themed coin.
- A pewter statue of John Romero’s head on a spike.

John Romero and Limited Run have revealed that these SIGIL fan boxes are only open from December 10 to December 24, 2018.
