As Geoff Keighley and his team at The Game Awards prepares for their show tonight, Twitter has reached out to us in order to confirm their ability to help cover The Game Awards from musical performances and new announcements to who won what awards. Here’s everything you need to know including times and how to watch.
In a press release sent over to us from Twitter themselves, it seems that the social media platform may be the next big place where one can tune in and watch The Game Awards 2018 hosted by famed gaming industry personality Geoff Keighley. Twitter has confirmed that they will be assisting in ensuring that they have every angle of The Game Awards 2018 event covered in order to make it easier for fans to join the conversation as game creators and some of the worlds most renowned gaming personalities are recognized during the event.
During the event, The Game Awards will once more broadcast live on Twitter. Through Twitter, you can tune into the Twitter pre-show event starting at 5:30pm PST on Dec. 6, 2018, and will be followed up by the two-hour awards show itself. If you are looking to tune in, you can simply do so by visiting the following Twitter user via @thegameawards.
Alongside the live stream event, Twitter has confirmed there will be a Twitter timeline, featuring a real-time conversation to create a unique and unified experience for viewers to watch, Tweet and view user commentary that will commence later today. Live Twitter comments on breaking news such as announcements and results of Twitter user polls will be integrated into the broadcast itself.
Along with the announcement of Twitter’s coverage, Gaming Fans can add color to their Tweets throughout the night by unlocking a special hashtag-triggered emoji by using the #TheGameAwards during the show. Along with the Twitter hashtag-triggered emoji, you can also join Twitter and The Game Awards in order to vote for what you want to take away the awards tonight via a Direct Message Experience in order to help select the nominees they want to see win through this Direct Message system.
Let alone can you use the Direct Message system, Twitter has also confirmed a hashtag voting system for the first-ever #TwitterGamingAward nominee, which will help celebrate the moments that generated the best conversations on Twitter throughout 2018. Here are your nominees down below:

The winner of the first ever #TwitterGamingAward will be announced during The Game Awards 2018 pre-show later today and will be the first time a social platform will have its very own award as a part of The Game Awards itself. The winner themselves will receive a custom Twitter-inspired trophy and a special hashtag-triggered emoji through the social media platform.
