Since its launch on Oct. 5, 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has become the best selling title in the history of the series, showing strong sells in the week since its launch.
As one of the most beloved franchises in the history of gaming, Assassin’s Creed remains a remarkable open world experience, one that continues to evolve, use history as its foundation and offer some of the most astonishing experiences to date. As part of that continued effort, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey stands out as one of the highest rated games of the current season, building itself upon favorable review scores for Ubisoft.
“We are incredibly proud of what the team accomplished with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and humbled by the amazing reception from critics and players. Based on the quality of the game and the very encouraging reactions from players, we expect Odyssey to be one of the top performing Assassin’s Creed games of all-time,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Launch is just the start of this epic journey. We have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that will keep players engaged and exploring the game’s beautiful and compelling world for a long time to come.”
Taking a familiar approach from the previous installment, Assassin’s Creed Origins, the latest entry takes a few key notes from the previous entry. First, the RPG elements and action elements do return as does the equipment portion of the game. You can upgrade your gear, swap out armor and weapons, and even choose how you will approach the game in a systemic open world where players choose to play Alexios or Kassandra, outcast Spartan mercenaries in a lively and lived-in world.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creedy Odyssey is just the beginning of their live roadmap plan. They plan on introducing more to its episodic structure with DLC content through two major storylines named “Legacy of the First Blade” and “The Fate of Atlantis.”
Each of the DLC will contain three episodes each, along with free story missions for all owners of the game, The Lost Tales of Greece, along with recurring in-game events and access to the Discovery Tour. You can check out the official trailer for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey down below.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Owners of the Xbox On X and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles can take advantage of additional features exclusive to the consoles.
