Avalanche Studios announced JUST CAUSE 4 during Microsoft’s E3 2018 showcase. The game sees Rico once more turn to South America where Extreme Weather events are happening and he must bring an end to the cause of them. Destruction, mayhem, and a whole lot of Rico is coming your way this December.

JUST CAUSE 4 is the new pivotal entry in the action-packed sandbox series by AVALANCHE STUDIOS. During Microsoft’s E3 showcase, the developer announced the upcoming release for JUST CAUSE 4 by showing off the game and giving out a release date of December 4, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

JUST CAUSE 4 is set to take place in the fictional South American world of Solis, a place where insane levels of destruction, unique physics, and a whole new level of Extreme Weather has begun to ravage the lands. Throughout their time as Rico Rodriguez, the series protagonist, fans will explore four distinct biomes ranging from tropical rainforests to grasslands to the heights of the Alpines to the lowlands of simmering hot deserts.

Each biome will feature its own fully simulated weather events, players will also have a unique experience as they traverse across the various landscapes and a rather diverse world. Fans will also have a chance to once more enjoy Rico’s gadgets of destruction, ranging from his trademark parachute to his wingsuit, all accompanied by the ever-so-faithful grapple hook he is known for.

This time, however, comes a new feature: customizing his grapple hook. This will soon be the most powerful and creative tool you will ever have a chance to use.

We’ve taken everything that players loved from our previous games and with brand new features, enhanced physics and core gameplay improvements, we’ve created the most ambitious Just Cause experience to date,” said Francesco Antolini, Game Director at Avalanche Studios. “The introduction of Extreme Weather is a complete game changer – players will not have seen anything like this in a videogame. We have created fully physicalized tornadoes, blizzards, sandstorms and torrential downpours which affect gameplay in a very real way. All of this is now possible thanks to our brand new Apex engine.

With the new engine, fans will get to see the game come to life in never-before-seen ways as explained by the developers in the Welcome to JUST CAUSE 4 video released today.
