During Microsoft’s E3 showcase, Capcom revealed Devil May Cry 5, giving fans a look at a fast-paced hack-and-slasher with returning protagonist Dante from Devil May Cry 4.
During Microsoft’s E3 2018 media briefing earlier today, Capcom revealed the 5th installment in the core Devil May Cry franchise, which will see players return to their adventures ten years later. The upcoming title is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the Spring of 2019.
In the trailer, we got to see a look at Nero as he and companion Nico make their way through the ravaged streets of Red Grave City, which is under attack by a demon invasion that began with the seeds of a “demon tree”. During this hellish incursion, Dante, Nero, and their partner Nico, make their way into the city. Nero has a noticeable change, however. His demonic arm is gone and has since been replaced by a cybernetic weapon.
Capcom has revealed that the title will be using their in-house RE Engine to ensure that Devil May Cry 5 offers ground-breaking graphics that utilize photorealistic character designs, lighting, and environmental effects. Fans will also have the chance to choose from three characters to play, each featuring their own unique combat styles and their own approach to how they play in the game. Boss fights and destructible environments will be making an entirely new look in 2019 as players fight their way through Red Grave City.
However, Capcom and Microsoft did not reveal a release date at this time. However, we can rest assured, that we’ll hear more about it during the Capcom and or Sony showcases later this week.
