CODE VEIN is an upcoming Soulsborne style game where players will take on the role of a revenant as they explore the ravaged lands of the world we once called home. As a member of the Vein Society, you will hunt down mysterious foes while uncovering the truth behind everything that is happening in the world starting this September.

As of this week, Bandai Namco has released the latest gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Code Vein, a vampire-filled action RPG set to release on Sept. 27, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a Steam version launching on Sept. 28. Code Vein is being directed by God Eater series alumni Hiroshi Yoshimura.

In the upcoming title, players will adventure through a post-apocalyptic world where a hidden society of vampires (aka Revenants in Code Vein) live in a place called Vein. As a Revenant, you will fight through dangerous dungeons, facing down bosses with your AI companion in order to gather blood. The Blood Veils collected will serve as a way to increase your characters strength, create new abilities in order to craft overpowered attacks that will help reap havoc upon your foes.

However, players will have to concern themselves by becoming too dependent on their bloodlust, which can risk them turning into one of the Lost, a fiendish ghoul that is devoid of their once cherished humanity. The game is angled to be a spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series, following the game in its dark and dangerous tone where environments are terrifying in their very own right. To accompany players on their voyage, you can prepare to wield a variety of weapons and tools that can be used to extract blood from your foes as well as spells known as Gifts, which can be used while in combat.

Just as one would expect, spells will be brighter, flashier, and more extravagant than the Dark Souls series thanks to the games serious anime elements. If you are E3 2018 you can check out CODE VEIN and visit with our friends at Bandai Namco from June 12, 2018, until June 14, 2018, at South Hall Booth #1647.

Code Vein is scheduled to release on Sept. 27, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a Steam version launching on Sept. 28. Stay tuned for our review of the game once it launches.
