Known for his work on Diablo I, Diablo II, Hellgate: London, and Marvel Heroes, David “Graybeard” Brevik has moved onto a new adventure through his indie game It Lurks Below, now available via Steam’s Early Access program.
Today, Graybeard Games, run by Diablo creator David Brevik, has announced that their title It Lurks Below is now available for PC via Steam Early Access and can be purchased through the games official Steam page for $19.99 USD. The game has been a labor of love for David Brevik and has already neared its goals for completion, which will see It Lurks Below to receive a full release “soon” according to Graybeard Games.
Since its release in Beta, Beta Testers have continually applauded the game, giving it critical feedback in order to help with the game’s development. The game itself has also received quite a bit of a round of applause on Twitch as streamers have taken to the game, sharing it with their communities.
“At the Game Developers Conference last month, I talked to a lot of indie developers who recommended doing Early Access through Steam – they basically said I’d be crazy not to do it,” says Brevik, whose last major launch was Marvel Heroes in 2013 when he led Gazillion Entertainment.
As part of the development, Brevik has revealed that games such as Terraria, Minecraft and his very own works in Diablo inspired his work on It Lurks Below. In order to help promote the game, Brevik has announced that he will be streaming the game quite a bit via his own Twitch channel over at Twitch.tv/graybeardgames.
“I’m flattered by the overwhelmingly positive response to the closed betas and my personal streams of It Lurks Below so far,” he says. “I read every piece of feedback I receive, and I value any additional thoughts players may have before I finalize the game for its official release. Which of course is…‘Soon.’”
