Have you ever had a day where you’re just sifting through some oddly labeled titles, and somehow, just somehow you’ve stumbled across a title you’ve never heard? That’s where this odd little title by the name of Genesis: Alpha One comes into play. Since the game is almost completely flying under the radar, it’s one that may just catch your attention and draw you in little by little.
Announced last year for PC via Steam, Genesis: Alpha One is the debut title from independent team Radiation Blue. As their first title, the team has taken on an ambitious task, one where their game Genesis: Alpha One will infuse elements of roguelike titles, first-person shooters, base building mechanics, and survival elements into play all at once as players take on the role of an interstellar pioneer.
As the captain of a Genesis starship, the player’s role is more important than ever as they will chart across uncharted space, searching for a new home for humanity’s DNA and save our now endangered species, from extinction. As part of your task, you will need to build a spaceship for your crew, discover planets, harvest resources from them, clone your crew, and create new lifeforms you want to populate those new worlds with, but don’t think that’s all. As part of the game, players will be tasked with defending themselves, their crew, and their planets from terrifying alien infestations that will attack your ship and crew.
As part of Genesis: Alpha One, players will also find themselves landing on various planets, as stated before, each coming with their own biomes and dangers. Luckily enough, the latest trailer gives us the first glimpses of what players can expect of this upcoming game, including landing on a new planet for the very first time and potentially calling it home. Just remember, you’ll want to take your harvester down tot he planets below as you travel among the stars.
Radiation Blue has announced that Genesis: Alpha One is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated about the game as we get closer to its release.
