As we quickly approach the release of Far Cry 5, Ubisoft is once again ramping up their hype campaign for one of 2018’s most anticipated games, and over the next few days and weeks left until it launches, we have a massive surprise headed our way: a Far Cry 5 short- film known as Inside Eden’s Gate, that will give fans of the Far Cry series their first look inside the mind of cult leader Joseph Seed.

The upcoming short film, just like the Tom Clancy’s The Division, is set to release exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video service on March 5, 2018. The short film is being brought to life by Asylum, an award-winning division of feature film studio Legendary Entertainment. You can see more about the film down below as detailed by Ubisoft.

In Inside Eden’s Gate, rumors of a fanatical cult called The Project at Eden’s Gate lure three vloggers to the remote Hope County, Montana. As the vloggers follow the leads of missing locals and other strange events, they come face-to-face with Joseph Seed, played by the same actor as the in-game version of the cult leader, and the rest of the fanatical doomsday cult. Produced by Asylum Entertainment, Inside Eden’s Gate features Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) and Kyle Gallner (American Sniper).

At Ubisoft, we always strive to build worlds and narratives that actively engage our consumers both in and outside of our core gaming experiences,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of marketing and consumer experience, Ubisoft. “Our partnership with Asylum Entertainment provided a unique opportunity for the team to work with top-tier acting talent in Greg Bryk that bridges the consumers’ experience from the short film to the game.

Far Cry 5 is set in the rural town of Hope County, Montana, a place that’s dark, twisted, and deeply affected by the Eden’s Gate and their peoples. In the title, players will set out to stop the fanatical doomsday cult from starting a vicious takeover of the county that could result in the death of the people that inhabit it.

Far Cry 5 is set to launch on March 27, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
