Fans of the independent developer and publisher Digital Extremes can rejoice on consoles as the Warframe Update ‘Chains of Harrow’ has launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting today. The new update features quite a few changes that fans have been looking forward to rather new or old or even returning.
To begin, todays new update features several thing outside of the rather disturbing and horror-esque story told by the Red Veil Clan’s spiritual medium by the name of Palladino. Chains of Harrow explores this element as players are sent to investigate a dark, but mysteriously empty Steel Meridian spacecraft that has been floating adrift in space. Inside, players will see the lights flicker, emergency strobes flashing, and bodies of the crew strung about.
While players will explore what has happened in this new cinematic solo story quest, players will also get to see some new exciting content spanning from a new Octavia Instrument Pack, Captura Tiles, weapons, and cosmetics, to even something a bit more wanted: earth has been overhauled with a new visual update. Fans will get to see new luscious vegetation enveloping their Warframes while lighting has been made to seem more natural than ever before.
Earth Remastered: Experience Earth like never before with the beautifully remastered Earth environments. Clash with Grineer amidst luscious vegetation and envelope your Warframe in the naturalistic lighting and a remastered soundscape. Visit any of the Earth Terrain Missions to experience this stunning overhaul. However, all is not peaceful on Earth as players will fight against a new Grineer enemy by the name of Nox. This new enemy is part of the Grineer’s Elite Chem Strike Unit, one that will shoot blobs of goo, which attach themselves to their targets before exploding. These enemies can be taken out by shooting the glass on their helmet or taking their health down to nothing.
This new update also features a few new things for players to enjoy. Fans will be able to also grab their hands on Death Knell. Players can ring this weapon’s ability by hitting headshots with this scoped pistol only to increase their Critical Chance with it for a short period. Additionally players can grab their hands on a new spear called Scourge, which shoots out corrosive plasma projeticles or can be tossed in order to inflict enemies with an energy field that amplifies their brain waves to attract bullets to them. There’s also a new Syandana on the shop for players to grab called the Nave Syandana, which completes Harrow’s ‘priestly’ look.
Players can also enjoy changes made to the Glaive melee weapon class, which allows players to wield the melee weapon while also wielding a pistol. You can check out the official patch notes in order to see all the additions made to the game.
