Vainglory to have First-Ever Collegiate Exhibition at PAX East
As many of you know and have read time and time again, I’ve been a gigantic supporter and fan of Vainglory. It’s been a title that has held a soft spot in my heart for quite sometime and continues to do so to this day. As a part of this news, the guys at Super Evil Mega Corp and College StarLeague (CSL) are hosting the first and largest collegiate gaming organization to date so college players will find it easier and more rewarding to play Vainglory.
With this announcement, CSL will be hosting this tournament which features teams from Boston University, UMass Amherst, UMass Lowell and Westfield State University. The schools will competing in a single elimination bracket this Sunday, April 24th, starting at 1:30pm on the Twitch STage during PAX East at the Boston Convention Center. If you aren’t attending you can head over to twitch.tv/twitch to watch. The CSL has handed out more than $250,000 in scholarship money to collegiate champions and community figures in the past six years. As a part of this, teams from League of Legends, Dota 2 and Hearthstone have participated in the league. For more info about the league visit cstarleague.com.

Tripwire Interactive Brings Rising Storm 2: Vietnam and Killing Floor 2 to PAX East
Whether or not you know the titles, these are two that shouldn’t be easily dismissed as competitors in the FPS genre. While Rising Storm is an award-winning tactical shooter, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam takes players to the familiar war known as “Vietnam” as the name suggests. The game takes players into a brutal and authentic recreation of the Vietnam War while players are visiting the great city of Boston.
If you aren’t familiar with Killing Floor 2 the name is just as it suggests. With the title once more picking up the helm of where Killing Floor left off with the frantic co-op shooter where fans try to survive hordes of zombies that seek to do one thing: consume flesh. In this game players work side-by-side in order to fight through brutal hordes of enemies. However, the version you’ll be seeing? Won’t be the PC version that we’ve been covering since it’s Early Access launch thanks to the press teams that we correspond with. Freshly announced, the horrifying gore title will be heading to PlayStation’s booth to show off the PS4 version of the game. Want a chance to play these titles? Check out the info below.

Ashen Rift Heads to PAX East and the Kickstarter Adds New Stretch Goals
You may remember earlier this year I wrote passionately about a game that spoke volumes to me called Ashen Rift. Unfortunately when I wrote about it back then the game didn’t get the funding needs it required, which to me whispered a silent and deadly fate of the game. After all that is what happens to most seemingly failed Kickstarters.
After reaching out to Pyroclastic Entertainment, Inc. on a whim. We learned that the game is still very much alive, and recently passed its goals to head to PAX East where the game will debut at a rather large event. With this news has come hope to see an adventure about a man and his dog surviving a deadly world is still going to come true. With no idea of a solid release yet, one thing is for certain, the game will be one to look forwards to when it launches on PC. To find out more about this game head on over to the official website here to find out more about Ashen Rift.
Our Take:
It’s rare that I’ll take the time outside of an article in order to do an our take regarding upcoming titles or what is in the works. With the news of Ashen Rift, it isn’t odd to say that I am doing one of these. Ashen Rift has been a game that has seemingly gone quiet for weeks to months on end after its Kickstarter didn’t pass by its expectations and funding requirements, but all that silence has proven one thing: Ashen Rift lives on and we can’t wait to see if it’s still in development for PS4, PC, and Linux.
