Fallout 4’s DLC the Autmatron is Now Available

Fallout4_DLC_WastelandWorkshop02_1455633123

If helping out the Wastelands of Boston wasn’t enough, today Bethesda has released the latest DLC for Fallout 4 by the name of Automatron. This DLC features the role of a mysterious and mischievous enemy by the name of the Mechanist who is sending hordes of evil robots into the Commonwealth. This enemy also includes the devious Robobrain. As players explore the cause of this threat, they must hunt down, harvest their own parts to build their own minions. This includes the choosing hundreds of mods including limbs, armor, abilities, weapons including the all-new lightning chain gun. Players will be able to customize the paint schemes and even choose their robotic companions voices. This will be available for characters level fifteen and up.

As the first expansion to Fallout 4, Bethesda has also announced that they are expanding the capabilities of settlements within the Wasteland Workshop, and in May, you’ll be able to head outside of the Commonwealth of Boston to Main for the upcoming DLC Far Harbor, which is the largest landmass has ever created post-game development by Bethesda Game Studios. And that’s just the beginning of what they are announcing. All DLC is available via the season pass for 49.99 USD on Steam, PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Live Marketplace or your local retailer. With more DLC coming later this year, they have also announced new small updates such as Survival Mode and the Creation kit, which will allow mods to be created on PC then shared to consoles. Stay tuned for our upcoming review for each of the DLC’s as they become available.

Epic Games Prepares to Launch Paragon Early Access Monday

Paragon_SC01

MOBA’s as we all know have risen to popularity. A few years ago it was first person shooters galore, a few years before that it was RPG’s, and even a few years before that? It was a melting pot for indie games. Well that indie melting pot hasn’t ended, but what has ended is the fact that MOBA’s are no longer a PC exclusive territory, and console gamers as well as tablet gamers are getting to see their fare share of the genre itself.

With Paragon having been announced at the PlayStation Experience of 2015, the game has grabbed a lot of attention for its unique explosive action that has that special Epic Games touch. With MOBA’s being what they are, players can compete and win without spending money or you can throw out a little bit of cash and get the games Founder’s Pack(s) to start showing your support. As with any title, all heroes are free, and all of their cards can only be earned by playing the game. Yup, you read it first, you unlock characters by playing.

Paragon_SC03

So what does this mean? PC and PlayStation 4 owners can buy the Founder’s Packs. These unique packs will be available starting March 14th with multiple tiers available starting at 19.99 USD all the way up to 99.99 USD. Each one comes with its own content that’ll be given to users. So lets take a look at the paid option tiers:

Founder’s Packs (19.99 USD): Includes access to closed beta, skins, boosts, and other cosmetic options for characters.

Challenger Packs (59.99 USD) | Master Packs (99.99 USD): will include a huge number of skins, unlockable items, boosts, a unique skin, and a Founder’s Pack to give to a friend. Right now the rest of the info regarding this is still in the air for those looking to play, but Epic Games has been great about keeping players informed.

If you’d like to support Paragon, buy a Founder’s Pack on March 14 and jump in early. Or, you can sign up for the Beta at Paragon.com and join us for free in the Summer of 2016.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered to Launch on PlayStation 4 This Spring

Valkyria-Chronicles-sc01

After having bought the game on Steam through a recent 75% off promotion coupon, it wasn’t surprising to see that something was up, and for Sega, that stood true. This comes with the news that Valkyria Chronicles has been remastered and will soon find itself launching in both the Americas and Erope on May 17th for PlayStation 4. This version will allow players to once more relive the lives of Squad 7’s valiant fight against the Empire. This time in full 1080p HD at 60FPS. That means beautiful, smooth, and upgraded graphic fidelity. This also means the game will come with all original DLC, dual voice dubs, and even trophy support.

Along with this announcement, Sega has also announced the game will come with limited launch copies in the Americas for those wanting a collectible metal Squad 7 Armored Case. So what is this going to cost you? 29.99 USD or 49.99 CA.

Warframe Update 18.5 – Sands of Inaros Now Available on PC

If you’ve been enjoying the ongoing developments in Warframe as much as we have, you’re in store for some fun for our PC brethren who’re just slightly ahead of consoles as far as updates go. While we know Update 18.5 has been out for a few days, we know not all of you have gotten your hands on it, so lets take a look at the patch notes.

The patch includes the following:

New Warframe: Inaros

Desiccation – Blast enemies with a wave of cursed sand that blinds them and steals their health.

Devour- Hold power to trap target in quicksand and draw them in for devouring; this steals health and ultimately creates a friendly Sand Shadow.

Sandstorm – Become a whirling spiral of sand that sends enemies flying and devours those trapped in quicksand.

Scarab Swarm – Charge to transform health into hardened scarab armor. Discharge to blast enemies with a scarab swarm; survivors have their health drained and bestowed on allies.

Sands of Inaros Quest Line:

Baro Ki’Teer is searching for riches under the sands of Phobos, but he needs Tenno help in order to find his fortune.

New Enemies

Kavat – A feral Kavat. Feral Kavats can be found in all Derelict Missions except Defense.

Hyekka – Trained to hunt down Infestation.

Hyekka Master – Summons a Hyekka to fight for it. Hyekka Masters will replace Drahk Masters in the following Missions: Phobos (Grineer Settlement tileset) and Moon Defense. They will also appear in any Grineer Mission that features Infested, and may also appear in other Missions that spawn Grineer enemies.

New Weapons

Warframe_SandofInaros_03

Lesion – An instrument of unrelenting harm in close combat.

Mutalist Cernos – Overcome with Infestation, this bow’s arrows now spread poisonous contagion to any surface they hit.

Reactor Sabotage 2.0

Warframe_SandofInaros_06_Moon_1

Grineer and Corpus Ship Reactor Sabotage missions have been given a total overhaul, complete with diverse mission objectives and a new set of Sabotage-unique tiles. Reactor Sabotage 2.0 includes:

Interactive Mission objectives that will change depending on the squad playstyle. These objectives will create unique environmental hazards and varying extraction goals depending on the Squads choice.

4 new Grineer tiles.

4 new Corpus tiles.

Tileset Expansion – Orokin Moon

The Orokin Moon tileset has been expanded to include new game modes. These additions include:

20 new environmental tiles.

Defense, Capture, and Warframe’s most difficult Spy Missions yet!

Overall improvements to older tileset rooms, including graphical and lighting adjustments.

Chat Changes

Warframe’s chat UI has been given a complete overhaul, including new features and more intuitive settings for private conversations and player searching. We will continue to expand upon the chat UI in the coming updates. The following changes have been made to the chat UI:

Chat has received a visual reskin.

Tabs are now icons for default channels and text for private messages, separating chat channels from conversations you’re having with other players.

An Emojis tab has been added to the chat UI! Share your feelings without words using Emoji’s you know and love, in addition to Warframe exclusive Emojis. Enjoy! 😀

Emoji’s can also be auto-completed with the : command.

Emoji color settings have been added to the Chat Options menu.

Auto-complete player name functionality has been added. This tab will open when typing @, and will only show players recently spoken to.

Chat channel notifications will now appear in the chat tab when a player’s name has been mentioned in a channel. This effect will be brief for channels you are currently speaking in, but more prominent for channels you are not currently focused on.

Pressing up and down while in a chat channel will display previous messages you’ve sent.

Maximum character count in the Trade channel is 180.

A whisper button has been added to the player Profile screen.

Lighting Improvements

Warframe_SandofInaros_08_Moon_3

Warframe’s lighting system has received a complete overhaul, putting an extra layer of detail on every single graphical element of the game. Players should notice a substantial increase in detail across all of Warframe’s game modes, weapons, characters and tilesets.

Interception AI Improvements

Enemies in Interception Missions have been overhauled to help improve the flow of combat over the course of the Mission. These improvements include:

Superior objective finding and hacking agent selection.

Better player tracking and more intuitive movement to Squad location.

Enemies unable to hack (such as MOAs) will no longer move to engage hacking consoles.

You can play for free through the Warframe Website for PC or download for free through the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Store.

Our Thoughts:

Warframe is one of those games that Digital Extemes has shown a lot of love for, fans have shown a lot of love for, and even new comers have begun showing a lot of love for. Luckily the game as it grows, has gotten bigger, more beautiful and even more-refined as it goes. To be honest? This is probably the best free-to-play title I’ve played in a long time. With the game now having a giant central hub, it truly feels like a non-isolated game, but with these subtle changes? We’re going to see the game grow even more and get even more stories behind each frame. Now if  only we could see a Chang’e or even a Kali frame.

Where’s Our Tom Clancy’s The Division Review?

TCTD_screen_DarkZone_e3_150615_4pm_PT_1434323960

Many of you know we’ve been excited, and not just excited, but highly anticipating Tom Clancy’s The Division. Like many great online only games, there’s always a limitation to when a games review can be readily made available for readers. This time around Tom Clancy’s The Division will be one that we will be starting our review work for today. Due to the game not having closed review servers as we would’ve hoped, we know there’s a lot of time we have to make up for since the game has been one of the most anticipated by fans this year.

Much like our progress we did for Destiny when we covered it, The Division will get a very familiar treatment where we will progress through it, and putting in a review as we go since the review will indefinitely be in progress since The Division is an online game and could see small changes over its lifetime. We want to thank you for your patience and understanding and we will have that review up for you soon.

Sword Coast Legends Comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One This Summer

SCL PS4 Screenshot 04

If you’re one for running through magical temples, caves, and fighting magnificent creatures in a D&D style games, Sword Coast Legends is just right up your alley. Sword Coast Legends you can imagine it’ll feature a cooperative or solo story that puts players in the land of the Forgotten Realms. In this adventure you’ll take on a member of the Burning Dawn, which is a small adventurers’ guild that has recently fallen on some difficult times. With, y’know, nightmares, murders, and your entire team being forced to fight the natural habitat of the world around them.

Initially released on P.C., Sword Coast Legends is a game that brings the land of Faerûn to life with iconic magical creatures, spells, items, and locations that have been directly plucked from the books. This means fans who know the 5th edition core D&D books well, will not find themselves disappointed. Enemies will vary whether adventurers play alone or together. They will take on enemies such as Hommet Shaw, a well-known Necromancer who serves Izhkin. According to D&D lore many know Izhkin as the self-proclaimed “Lord of the Dark” in the D&D universe. But even with this, characters will bring on a variety of rather memorable companions when real life friends can’t join you in the land of Faerûn.

SCL PS4 Screenshot 03

With this announcement, Digital Extremes has also announced that they will be releasing all previously released content and the game for 19.99 USD, but will also be releasing the upcoming DLC titled Rage of Demons. This DLC contains an entirely new adventure for players to experience and features fan-favorite Ranger Drizzt Do’Urden and his 600 lb. astral panther Guenhwyvar. And guess what? At no extra cost to you. To those who pre-order the game will be available starting June 6th, 2016.

343 Studio to Honor Fans Tremendous Loss in Halo 5 Update Available Now

true-light-blog.jpg

It’s always heart breaking when you hear that someone has suffered an insurmountable loss. One that doesn’t just break your spirit, but breaks you as a person. Personally, I’ve never been one to suffer a loss like Halo fan and recognized community member Adam Bartels (or thecrzedspartan as he’s known in the Halo community) lost his daughters in a tragic electrical fire. Both he and his wife have come through all odds to attempt putting their lives back together and I’m sure they will continue to do so. Thanks to the Halo Community, Adam and his Wife Rebecca were able to raised almost 30,000 USD through their  GoFundMe page. Mr. and Mrs. Bartel, from myself, and the entire team of B.A.T.G.R. our hearts go out to you and we feel for you the best we can. We pray that you two find some peace, and my your daughters rest in peace among the stars.

For those that read the title know that Halo 5 developer 343 Industries is now paying tribute to Adam and his daughters in its own way, with an in-game update containing an emblem and an added feature in an upcoming map. Here’s the announcement about the update in full:

“Last month we learned about a community member’s tragic loss. Adam (aka thecrzedspartan) and his wife Rebecca lost their daughters Trinity and Lena when their lives were claimed by an electrical fire in their family home. As a father, I can only imagine the heartache and pain caused by this loss. In the days following the tragedy, it was inspiring to see the Halo community come together to support Adam and Rebecca in a variety of ways.

In honor of Adam’s family and his daughters, Trinity and Lena, we’ve created the Spartans Never Walk Alone pack. This pack contains the True Light emblem, which is named after the first initial of each of his daughters’ names, and is the first animated emblem to come to Halo 5. All players will receive this pack as part of this month’s free update.

As well we have included a special feature in our new Arena map, Torque. As players look up and scan the stars above, the names Trinity and Lena will be visible in the night sky. These are but small gestures meant to honor Adam’s daughters, ensuring that their memories are always close at hand within the universe he loves.”

The focus for this update is one that is important more-so than it is for game improvements. 343 Studio’s is using this time to help a fan cope with his loss and help him and his wife find some comfort in a tremendous way. This, however, is not the first time that the industry has done such notions for their fans, but 343 is keeping the gestures alive.

[Source: Halowaypoint]

Our Take:

I have lost friends and family, but never my own flesh and blood. To some extent, I can only imagine the pain that the Bartel’s are going through with their tragic losses. As someone that is a part of the Halo Community, Mr. and Mrs. Bartel my heart goes out to you. You have my deepest condolences for your loss.
