Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Announced for Next Gen Consoles

Infinite Warfare

If anyone has been awaiting for announcements for Call of Duty, we know it’s the fans. Especially after the accidental leaks by Sony on the store that revealed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as the next entry in the series. While the game was at first seemingly going to take place purely in space, many players began to denounce it. However, today, Activision has confirmed that Infinite Warfare will be the first title in the Call of Duty franchise to venture past the realms of earth, and into the possible future of man and space in our very own solar system. While the game isn’t deploying the idea of a science fiction approach or even massive space battle approach, Infinite Warfare is at its core a Call of Duty. This means boots will be on the ground with infantry combat on the ground as well as in the depths of space.

While piloting vehicle in combat will happen, the game will approach space as a plausible battleground. With that, players will be taking to never before seen war zones. While the team has been heavily focusing on the games story, they are looking at how to push the boundaries for online combat. Maps will be in never-before seen locales while also using new mechanics to play. This will allow for fun, frantic combat in each multiplayer occasion.

For those of you who prefer Zombies, Infinity Ward has announced that a all new cooperative Zombies mode will be there as players take on a new story with new features. More about that, however, will be released at a later date. As with Black Ops III by Treyarch, the map packs will be exclusive to PS4 for 30 days.

Along with the games announcement, they’ve confirmed that the most critically acclaimed title in the franchise will be heading to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One for the first time ever. In the Legacy Edition they have announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be included and was produced by Infinity Ward while being fully developed with Raven. The title will include all previous content including maps, story, and even a graphical upgrade to modern standards for next gen consoles. You can head to the the official site and plan your November 4th for a day of Call of Duty.

John Romero and Adrian Carmack’s Blackroom Now On Kickstarter

Night_Work_Games.png

If you were wondering what these two legends of the FPS genre have been up to, their game is now up on Kickstarter and it’s looking to be backed by the fans. The game will be DRM Free + Steam for Win/MAC, while it looks to release in Winter 2017 and will have a 10 hour campaign featuring leaderboard challenge mods, along with co-op, 1-on-1 Deathmatch, Arena mode, and will have 6 built in maps along with community maps to help expand the multiplayer.

They have also openly stated the game will return to the era of being fully moddable, will run dedicated servers, and will allow for players to create maps. This definitely sounds like a throwback to their days at id Software with DOOM and Quake. The title takes place at the world’s leading tech companies, HOXAR.  HOXAR has created a technology that allows people to be anywhere at any time. Sounds fun right? But what if this meant your world was a fully-realized holographic world that was indistinguishable from reality and took place inside of a giant black room? That’s where BLACKROOM comes into play. The title will allow players to dive into a world where military and police organizations train their specialists to fight against the horrors of war and urban terror through this device.

BLACKROOM_Cincept_Art.png

The technology has even gained favor among commercial clients have lined up to develop HoloSims that look to terrify adults while amusing children with delight. However, what would happen if the simulations began to become twisted and warp into each other? This is where something darker, more sinister comes to play, and you take the role of Dr. Santiage Sonora, Chief hNode Engineer at Hoxar who seeks to stop this trouble from worsening. With having leading-edge Predictive Memory technology showing that troubling anomalies can blend into the real world with the virtual, you’ve been sent in with both Boxel and your gun to investigate. This is also where you learn that what happens in the BLACKROOM is no longer just fun and games. It’s what nightmares are made of and you’ll be fighting your way through dangerous simulations that may just cripple your mind in the process.

If you are looking to back the game you can head over to the official BLACKROOM Kickstarter that both Adrian and John started to give their game some support so that it can be developed and worked on. As stated, the game is slated for a 2018 release window if the Kickstarter succeeds. Stay tuned for more coverage.

Game Developer Legends Adrian Carmack and John Romero Team Up for a New Game

There was a time when we all knew these two for their participation in DOOM. More-so for the fact these two helped forge the first-person genre in a way we never knew and carved the path with John Carmack to make FPS titles what they are today. Seeing as both of been departed from id Software Since 1997 and 2003, respectively in order, Adrian Carmack and John Romero have been hard at work doing what they do best; enjoying video games and life. While Adrian Carmack has been MIA for sometime, it’s nice to see he’s once more returning to what they do best, make weird shit look awesome.

Night_Work_Games.png

Recently the two have announced they are teaming up for a FPS title by the name of “The Return”, which I accidentally stumbled upon when sifting through YouTube last night watching video game highlights for PAX East. The title’s website aims at April 25th for an announcement, which we can probably be rest-assured that it’ll be a trailer for the upcoming game versus the games announcement itself which they made in the trailer below.

While the Star Wars like skit is enough to grab our attention, we all know these two are all about working hard and playing even harder. We’ve reached out to Night Work Games to find out more about the title, but we’re sure we’ll be told to watch for Monday, April 25th for more information.
