Get ready for one heck of a spooky Halloween as Corpse Party prepares to head to modern platforms later this month. It’ll be a bloody good time.
It almost seems like 2021 has had more surprises than any other year in gaming. Especially when it comes to the publisher XSEED Games who hasn’t stopped delivering some of this year’s most phenomenal hits including Rune Factory 5 and Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. They just aren’t slowing down either, which for us gamers, is a good thing.
After all, it comes out that XSEED Games isn’t quite done as they’re lining up an all-new release of Corpse Party with enhanced features for modern platforms on October 20th, 2021, for $19.99. The new version will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch when it launches with a 10% discount on all platforms, but only for PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4.
Fans can prepare to once more head into the haunted halls of the Heavenly Host Elementary School where it’s been hungering for its very next victim. It’s been hungry and craving for more since 1996 and now, 25 years later, it’s about to get just that as the new version has been updated, but retains its 16-bit charm.
The game will feature five new main story chapters, each with their own gruesome endings, while also featuring 16 “Extra Chapters”, expanding the series’ lore, adding new characters, relationships, and adding on two all-new episodes that will see more characters with new roles to play in the Corpse Party franchise.
The new release is also getting a fully voiced Japanese dub, which is a first for fans in the West. Of course, what more could you ask for as you become acquainted with two all-new characters named Miku Shirayume and Ryoka Iwami. Just remember, when you play this one, get ready to enjoy some binaural 3D audio as the game has some optimized features exclusively for those using headsets.
