Bloober Team’s horror title, The Medium, is officially coming to PlayStation 5 this September and will have DualSense features and a special discount for PlayStation Plus members alongside a physical retail edition.
When it comes to horror games, The Medium is a unique title that manages to become a gripping story, but also a horrifying one at the exact same time. It’s one that gives players a unique way to view the world around them with its dual-view camera, which puts players in a point of seeing both the spiritual world and the physical realm.
To bring their dual-reality title to life, Bloober Team has revealed an all-new outline video on how The Medium has been treated to some DualSense-exclusive features that help drive the level of immersion that the game has to offer.
“On PlayStation 5, we are taking full advantage of the console’s DualSense controller to immerse you even deeper into the mystery of the Niwa Hotel. Our goal is to let you feel Marianne’s reactions to what is happening as she explores and interacts with the game world,” explains Szymon Erdmański, producer at Bloober Team.
Along with the new outlined features, Bloober Team has confirmed that the Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusive that arrived on January 28th, 2021, will come to an end on September 3rd, 2021, allowing for a broader audience to enjoy the story. The Medium will launch on the PlayStation Store for $49.99 with a 10% discount for those that pre-order the title before launch.
The digital version will come with a digital Original Soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski and The Art of The Medium digital art book as well. The Medium will also arrive in physical format as well as The Medium: Two Worlds Special Edition, which will feature an exclusive steelbook, soundtrack of the game, and the printed artbook.
