Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris expansion and season announced

Starting on August 12th, fans can jump into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second major expansion, The Siege of Paris, while also taking on the Sigrblot Season with the Sigrblot Festival, which starts this week.

Announced Today, Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive its second major expansion starting on August 12th. The new content will see players take on the role of Eivor as they set out on a dangerous path through Francia. They will go head-to-head against the forces of Francia as they take over the Frankish homelands in epic conquest battles.

Eivor will face down entirely new enemies, undergo new conquest battles throughout Viking history, and obtain new equipment to use ranging from gear, armor, to weapons. Eivor will also be able to hone in their abilities in battle with all-new skills to use. Players will also get to see the return of Infiltration Missions, including the long-time, fan-favorite Black Box Missions.

Those who opt to play the game’s upcoming content can do so for $24.99 and free to Season Pass owners. Also, fans who want to check out the music album for the DLC can do so on August 12th, or simply check out the official teaser video here for the song “Hásæti” or “Seat of Honor” in modern English, composed by Stephanie Economou.

Additionally, Season 3 will also begin this week on July 29th, 2021, for the Sigrblot Festival. The festival is a traditional style festival that celebrates the start of the Raiding season. During the festival, fans can enjoy a wide array of events and mini-games such as Flyting, Fighting, and Dice.

To partake in the event, players will need to head to the Ravensthorpe settlement and enjoy the events around the traditional bonfire within the settlement. There will also be three new quests available for Eivor to partake in. You can check out the official list from Ubisoft for the event down below:

  • Flyting, Fight Tournament, and Dice Game mini-games
  • Three new quests are available
  • Exclusive rewards including settlement decorations, customization items, and weapons. Notably, the one-handed sword Skrofnung can be acquired with Sigrblot tokens in the festival shop for a limited time before the festival ends
  • To experience the Sigrblot Festival, players must reach England and complete one of the first narrative arcs – either Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire – and have their settlement reach Level 2.

Ubisoft has also revealed the latest roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as part of today’s reveal:

Another update will be available later this season featuring a new River Raids map pack for fans to enjoy which will include destinations scattered along the rivers of Francia and Ireland. Not a bad deal for those of you wanting to do a bit of sightseeing in and around Europe. Not a bad year for fans to enjoy.
