Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Destruction has a hefty amount of content in its post-release plans for 2021. New fights, new monsties to train, and plenty more are on the way.
Freshly out on store shelves today for Nintendo Switch and PC, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, is a brand new title that takes another step in the monster-raising and monster-hunting genre. It’s the second entry in the Monster Hunter Stories line, and from what it looks like, it’s going to be absolutely massive thanks to a healthy amount of post-release content plans, which includes Palamutes, new bosses to fight, and of course, new monsties (aka monsters) to look forward to.
Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Director Kenji Oguro have opened up about the games co-op gameplay, the new hunts, and their plans for the post-release content. Fans can look forward to the fan-favorite addition to Monster Hunter Rise to join, which will see the Palamute become a ridable monstie on July 15th.
On August 5th, the two revealed that Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth will be coming into the game as a new co-op quest challenge to complete. Fans will also be able to take on Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos as well, giving fans plenty more to look forward to, in good ole Monster Hunter fashion.
Tsujimoto-san and Oguro-san also revealed that the game will be getting content support through October 21st, 2021. That includes Update 3 which will include Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth, and Oroshi Kirin as new Monsties to hunt. In Late September, Update 4 will arrive and will include Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigerez with Kulve Taroth returning for a high-difficulty co-op quest. In October, fans can expect to see Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian sweep in as part of Title Update 5.
There’s a lot to take in, but, Capcom has revealed the game will be receiving extensive support for the next few months. Stay tuned for our review.
