STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town has become the fastest selling title in the franchise with over 250,000 units sold in North America.
If you’re playing STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town, you’re in for a surprise, even if you aren’t, you’re still in for a rather large surprise thanks to the game becoming XSEED Games’ fastest-selling title with over 250,000 units sold in North America alone, which comes within the titles 2 months since release.
XSEED Games has also revealed that the title broke the record which was originally sitting at 2000,000 copies sold for STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town. The 200,000 record took five months to be achieved, making Pioneers of Olive Town one of the fastest-selling titles, and of course, one of the most supported as well.
Since its release, the developers have been hard at work releasing updates to improve the player experience through the quality of life updates released that are based on fan feedback. It’s even enough that Mayor Victor has made a speech of his own for you to read:
“Olive Town is an invaluable treasure to us all, tourist and resident alike. We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings, and we’re just getting started! The townsfolk and I have been busy collaborating on new improvements and attractions to welcome both veteran tourists and folks who might be new to our shores. Of course, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the courageous farmers who helped spread the word about our humble community. From OLIVE us here at Olive Town, you have our sincerest thanks!”
The franchise also is celebrating its 24th anniversary with phased DLC releases as part of the games ‘Expansion Pass’ that will be released in five parts, which includes new characters, story content, costumes, and plenty more for fans to enjoy.
“The DLC kicked off recently with Animal Attire costumes for the protagonists and marriage candidates, and ‘Olive Town Mystery Files,’ the first of a series of two sub-scenarios. The ‘Windswept Falls Expansion Pack’ will be released later this month with a new area home to four characters from a past entry on the Nintendo 3DS™ system – including two marriage candidates,” explains a spokesperson for XSEED Games.
Those looking into jumping into the experience can do so today exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can also check out our review of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town today.
