KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA have revealed the return of famed master ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, with the newly announced NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 10th, 2021.
If you’re like me, you’re needing to tell someone to shut the front door with the big announcement from Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA. Today’s news is absolutely massive as the duo have revealed the return of Ryu Hayabusa, the master ninja, with the NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection. The best part of it all? It’s coming to all available platforms via compatibility for next-gen consoles and native support on current-gen hardware.
Yes, that support includes the Nintendo Switch and will see ALL three NINJA GAIDEN games from PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U make their way to modern hardware. This includes NINJA GAIDEN Sigma, NINJA GAIDEN Sigma 2, and NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge. This includes all previously released DLC in one (massive) bundle!
This means fans will experience the reboot series that started it all and pushed fans to the very edge of hardcore and high-paced action and explorative experiences with 2007, 2009, and 2012 titles being brought up to modern standards, in their respective order.
After all, who doesn’t want to join Ryu, Kasumi, Ayane, Rachel Momiji and Kasumi for the hardcore battles that await them?! We know we sure do and Yosuke Hayashi, Chief Head of Team NINJA feels the exact same way with his statement about the upcoming bundle in the official PR release for the big announcement:
“NINJA GAIDEN is one of the most important and monumental titles for the Team NINJA brand, but we haven’t been able to release the series title on current generation platforms, so I am very delighted to be able to release it in this format as a trilogy. If you enjoy challenging action games, we hope you will give it a try.”
“NINJA GAIDEN is the origin of Team NINJA’s action games, and I hope that not only fans of the series, but also fans of the Nioh series will play these games. I hope that the day will come soon when I can provide information about the next game in the NINJA GAIDEN series, which I’ve been continuously saying that I want to develop, but until then, please play as the ‘super ninja’ Ryu Hayabusa in the NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection,” adds Fumihiko Yasuda, Head of Team NINJA.
But, that’s not all! Team NINJA and KOEI TECMO have revealed a special collaboration for the NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection and Nioh 2 as players can now obtain a Ryu Hayabusa-themed skin with the “Dragon Ninja” skin for Nioh 2 for PS4 and or PS5.
The NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection is set to release June 10th, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and next-gen consoles via backward compatibility.
