PlayStation 5 owners will be able to upgrade their PlayStation 4 copies of Rainbow Six Siege, free of charge when the game launches for next-gen consoles in 2020.
During the Ubisoft Forward event, Ubisoft revealed some massive news for fans of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Sege, which will see the game coming to next-gen consoles in 2020. The next-gen version, set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, will launch in 4K and 120 FPS with render scaling.
The next-gen version will be available later this year and at the same price as the current-gen version. To top things off, Ubisoft has revealed that PlayStation 4 users will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of the game at no additional cost. Those with the disc will need to have their disc on-hand in order to take advantage of this offer.
Along with the massive news regarding next-gen performance ratios and upgrade offers, Ubisoft has also revealed the game will feature a cross-generation experience, allowing fans on PS4 to play against PS5 users, and the same goes with Xbox platforms. Did we mention that all previous purchases will also carry over?
Along with the massive news, Operation Shadow Legacy has officially launched, bringing Sam Fisher of the Splinter Cell series into the game as an all-new attack operator. The new operation features an improved ping system, Chalet map, and many other key updates to the game. Currently, he is available to Year 5 Pass owners.
