Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning releases this September, new expansion announced

In a surprise announcement, THQ Nordic has revealed that Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is set to release this September with an expansion to follow in 2021, giving fans, even more, to look forward to.

When you think of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning even happening, you don’t expect what THQ Nordic is about to do outside of its launch on September 8th, 2020. To help fans prepare, THQ Nordic has revealed that an official expansion for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is also in development, bringing forth even more story content.

The newly released version will set out on its adventure on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, bringing together a story, unlike anything we’d expect from a remastered game. The new expansion – Fatesworn – is set to release in 2021. New details will be revealed at a later date. When the game was originally released, the creative minds of R.A. Salvatore, Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion creator, Ken Rolston, were brought together to make an entirely new experience.

Out of it came a title with unparalleled level of player choice, unique character creation and customization options, class editing, and a rich story filled with hundreds of hours of content. The best part of this all-new release? The game will release in two versions, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Standard Edition and Kingdoms of Alamur: Re-Reckoning Fate Edition.

Both editions will launch at their own respective price points of $39.99 and $54.99, respectively. The latter of the two will include the all-new expansion when it becomes available in 2021. There is also a recently revealed Collector’s Edition that will run a smooth $109.99 and will include the full game, expansion, and well, you just have to see for yourself down below.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Collector’s Edition details:

  • A highly-detailed Alyn Shir Figurine (20.8cm tall x 18cm wide x 14.2cm deep)
  • A custom Amalur keychain
  • Five pieces of original in-game artwork
  • The award-winning game soundtrack composed by Grant Kirkhope
  • A high-quality Collector’s Box
