While we await the official PlayStation 5 reveal on January 11th, 2020, Bungie is already prepping fans with major news regarding the official leap to next-gen consoles with Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the third expansion for Destiny 2, scheduled to launch this fall.
In a recent reveal, Bungie announced the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2 called ‘Beyond Light’, which will release this fall alongside a brand-new story element, which gives players their long-awaited look at Darkness, the franchises titular antagonistic-element. Now, we also have our first look at the new prologue season coming up here rather soon, called Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals.
During their latest update, Bungie has also revealed that Destiny 2 will launch on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 4 this holiday season. Bungie has not confirmed if this version of the game will be available at launch day for either console or if they will be merely upgrades from previous edition of the game. Regardless, Bungie has confirmed there will be several features fans should be excited for.
Among the features comes the fact that Destiny 2 will see resolution upgrades to 4K resolutions at 60 frames per second. Additionally, Bungie has revealed that the free upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will also include all previously released DLC for the game, allowing Guardians to have a seamless transition when moving to the upcoming consoles.
Those looking to experience the content can also expect Destiny 2: Beyond Light to launch across all current-gen platforms as well, including Google Stadia on September 22nd, 2020. At this time, Bungie seems to be waiting for an official release date of the Playstation 5 before revealing their release date for the PS5 and XBSX versions of the game.
A collector’s edition of Destiny 2: Beyond Light has been revealed as seen in the image above. Pre-orders are now available while supplies last.
