PC and Mac players can begin to experience the year-long interconnected adventure called the Dark Heart of Skyrim, which will see the events of Greymoor begin to unfold before them with update 25. The update arrives on consoles on March 10th. Here’s what to expect.

Just fresh off the digital shelves, the Dark Heart of Skyrim adventure has begun as Zeni Max Online Studios released the latest DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online; the event will lead up to the Greymoor Chapter, which is set to release on June 2nd, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The new DLC features two new dungeons including the Unhallowed Grave and Icereach. Each of the dungeons features their own unique settings including raiders and supernatural creatures such as witches and spirits. Both do come with their own unique armor sets, encounters, and challenges players must face off against.

You can check out the official dungeon descriptions down below:

  • Unhallowed Grave: In Unhallowed Grave, raiders and grave robbers have forced their way into an ancient burial site in Bangkorai seeking an ancient power that has remained imprisoned for centuries. Players must enter a long-forgotten tomb, uncover the reasons for the crypt’s invasion, and put a stop to the invader’s plans before it is too late. More details are on our preview blog.
  • Icereach: Skyrim’s northern coast is beset by a terrible, supernatural storm whose origin appears to be the island home of a powerful coven of witches. Players travel to Icereach to confront the witches and stop their deadly ritual before it brings ruin upon all of Skyrim. More details are on our preview blog.

With Update 25 comes the DLC, but also, some hefty improvements that long-time fans have been looking for, but also, a major change to the game, which will require players to redownload the game client with the launch. The new update features back-end improvements including a patching overhaul to the ESO game client, which changes how the game is downloaded, patched, and stored, which includes – hopefully – a smaller filesize int he long-run.

ZeniMax Online Studios has confirmed that Update 25 will lead players to receive a free Crimson Torchbug pet for reinstalling the game. While this does seem a hassle, Bethesda and ZOS has confirmed that this patch will lead to a better future for their game, but also, smaller filesizes in the long run. For more information about the Update and roadmap, Bethesda has confirmed the upcoming changes on a recent post: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/56681.

Stay tuned as we’ll keep you up to date as more information regarding The Elder Scrolls Online and its newly released year-long event begins.
