Bethesda has announced today that Roundhouse Studios, a team comprised of Human Head Studios veterans, have joined the Bethesda family. They have unannounced projects in the works. Here’s the lowdown of today’s announcement.
In an announcement made earlier today, Bethesda Softworks have confirmed that a new studio has opened as apart of their global studios. Human Head Studios, the team behind games such as Rune, The Quiet Man, and the original title Prey, have officially opened up a brand-new studio in Madison, Wis. as a part of the Bethesda name.
Currently, the team is hard at work on several unannounced titles, which could be announced heading into the next generation of consoles. The team, as you’ve seen above, is diverse in what they can deliver. They’ve worked hard in the past delivering games such as the original Prey and the Rune series along with innovative brawler-turned-investigator, The Quiet Man.
The team has also been known for their work in previous games such as Batman: Arkham Origins and BioShock Infinite. Currently, the team is hard at work on upcoming titles that will be announced at a later date, which could see the team introduced during E3 2020 or QuakeCon 2020.
“Sadly, we had to wind down the business of Human Head Studios and close its doors, which was particularly devastating due to the passion and creativity of the team we’d assembled,” said Chris Rhinehart, Creative Director, Roundhouse Studios. “We reached out to our friends at Bethesda for help, and they saw that same creativity and passion in our team. With the formation of Roundhouse Studios, Bethesda offered every employee of Human Head a position at the new company. We are excited our team will remain together, pursuing the work we love, as part of a company we already know and admire.”
Roundhouse Studios isn’t the only team to join Bethesda as of recent, the team at Alpha Dog Games, a studio known for working on mobile-games, also recently joined the ever-growing roster of Bethesda’s studios.
“While sorry to hear of their challenges as Human Head Studios, we were excited by the opportunity to bring under the Bethesda umbrella this talented, established development team,” said Todd Vaughn, Senior Vice President of Development at Bethesda. “We are delighted that the entire staff will remain together and is now part of the Bethesda family.”
Along with Arkane Studios, id Software, Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Online Studios, and Zenimax Online Studios, MachineGames, and Tango Gameworks Bethesda now bolster a stronger-than-ever roster of studios under their publishing and development brand.
