After DOOM Eternal’s recent delay announcement, Bethesda and id Software have fully outlined launch plans for DOOM 64, which will see all id Software titles arrive on current-gen platforms.
In an official press release, Bethesda and developer id Software have confirmed that DOOM 64, one of the most beloved titles in the series, will be launching on all current-gen platforms including the Nintendo Switch, which just became the best-selling console of 2019, having outsold PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both.
DOOM 64 is set to launch on March 20th, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. As part of the pre-order incentive, you will receive DOOM 64 for free with all purchases of the game whether you pre-ordered it earlier this year or in the upcoming days.
The launch of DOOM 64 on current-gen hardware will mark its first return to consoles in 23 years since its launch exclusively for Nintendo 64 back on March 31st, 1997. Alongside DOOM 64, those that pre-order DOOM Eternal can also receive the DOOT Revenant player skin, the Throwback Shotgun Weapon skin, and the Cultist Base Master Level, a remixed version of the campaign level “Cultist Base,” with brand-new challenges and surprises that will surely surprise even the Doom Slayer himself.
DOOM 64 and DOOM Eternal will launch on March 20th, 2020, and will be available in both physical and digital formats.
