After more than nine years of waiting, Western gamers can finally prepare to get their hands on Gameforge’s Kingdom Under Fire 2, the long-awaited sequel to Kindom Under Fire and a follow-up to Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.
Originally announced in 2008, Kingdom Under Fire 2 serves as the latest and most ambitious title yet within the multi-award winning series known as Kingdom Under Fire. The latest entry combines elements from both MMORPG’s and real-time strategy genres, allowing for the best of both worlds to exist, and also allowing for fans to experience something they might have never experienced before with the combined elements of those genres.
The game is slated to launch on PC later this year, giving fans a chance to dive into the direct sequel to Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders a popular title among Xbox and PC fans in 2004. Gameforge and Blueside’s joined visions will allow for a truly magnificent experience with Kingdom Under Fire 2. The teams have worked hard to bring the latest release to North America and Europe, giving them a chance to explore uncharted waters with Western fans.
“The Kingdom Under Fire series is a favorite among those of us at Gameforge, so we’re very excited to partner with Blueside to continue this epic saga and finally bring it to Western markets for the very first time,” said Tomislav Perkovic, Chief Product Officer. “We are determined to help Blueside realize their vision of the ultimate MMO, launching Kingdom Under Fire 2 for Windows PC in North America and Europe later this year.”
The two studios, one publisher, and the other developer are forming what could become one of the strongest partnerships yet within the current industry, giving players an even deeper taste in some of the most well-rounded experiences to come out of Asia’s most desired MMO titles yet thanks to the Western release of Kingdom Under Fire 2.
“Blueside has always sought a publishing partner with significant experience and a deep understanding of the Western online games market required to properly service Kingdom Under Fire 2,” said Sejung Kim, CEO of Blueside. “Based on their unique and extensive experience bringing Asian multiplayer titles to Western markets, we believe Gameforge is the publisher we’ve been looking for. We are very excited to collaborate with Gameforge to finally introduce Kingdom Under Fire 2 to fans throughout Europe and North America.”
At this time, however, it does not seem as if there is a planned release for console versions of the game. Kingdom Under Fire 2 is set within the world where the Human Alliance, Dark Legion, and the Encablossians wage war in order to gain control over the land of Bersia. The events take place 50 years after the events of Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders and expands upon the elements featured in Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders in an MMORPG experience.
