Square Enix and Capcom are Bringing Rathalos to Final Fantasy XIV

Since the launch of Monster Hunter: World, the game can easily be considered one of the most successful titles for the franchise, and has broken records that installments have had yet to do. Now, Rathalos, the “King of the Skies,” is preparing to invade Final Fantasy XIV.

Since the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix hasn’t been shy about doing some amazing crossovers in the game. We’ve seen them bring some of the most prestigious characters from their franchise to life and even crossing over quite a few with their own unique stories and events to enjoy. However, we’ve not yet seen anything quite like this.

During Square Enix’s E3 event, the company announced their latest crossover, which will go live later this summer and will serve as their very first crossover event with the famed publisher and developer Capcom. Rathalos, one of the most notorious dragons from the long-run Monster Hunter franchise is making his debut in Final Fantasy XIV later this year. Let’s take a peek at the trailer before we continue.

During a Special Letter from the Producer LIVE Stream during E3, producer and director Naoki Yoshida will be joined by special guest Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of Monster Hunter: World, to tell fans more about the upcoming collaboration on June 12, 2018, at 11:00am PDT.

But can Rathalos beat something even bigger than himself?

The event is set to unite two beloved franchises together as they celebrate their mindblowing success. Capcom had recently revealed that Monster Hunter: World has shipped more than 8 million copies since it’s release back in January of this year while Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy XIV is a home to over 10 million registered players across the globe. Now, we will see them come together in celebration later this year.
