Today, independent developer Fatshark has announced that the sequel to their smash-hit cooperative title Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide will be launching on March 8, 2018, for Windows PC. Additionally, the team has revealed pieces of the game as well as the content it will have through a live stream they called “Date Night” during their Twitch stream earlier today.
“Being passionate fans of the Warhammer IP, we’ve always wanted to create a Warhammer sequel that both stayed true to the beautifully dark atmosphere of the world but also brought new ideas and experiences for players. In addition to today’s news regarding the upcoming release of Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Fatshark games has also announced that pre-orders are now available for fans wanting to get their purchases in early. Additionally the game will feature enhanced stunning visuals, updates to the groundbreaking melee combat from its predecessor title as well as a return to the first-person perspective.
Just like the previous title, Vermintide 2 will take place during the dark End Times setting of the Warhammer Fantasy universe during the times of the destruction of the World That Was. The upcoming game will introduce players to the dark, bloody, and twisted Chaos world and will introduce a new deadly and formidable foe for players to fight back against. Along with these new additions, Fatshark has also announced that this new entry will feature 14 new hero careers, new environments, talent trees, and a new proprietary Heroic Deeds System.
At this time, the team has not announced when the game will release for consoles, they have released a set of assets for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Once a release date is made, we’ll keep you up to date when the information is released.
