As PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite continually carry on with their success, it’s only natural that other developers would like to explore the ever-growing battle-royale shooter genre. Among these developers comes Vostok Games, a team compromised of former members of the development team behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise.
During Focus Home Interactive’s private press event in Paris, France, Vostok revealed their upcoming title Fear the Wolves, which will embrace the main elements of the battle royale genre. However, the team has also announced that they will be bringing in their pedigree and their own personal twists that will make Fear the Wolves stand out among its competitors.
The team has announced that Fear the Wolves will be following in the footsteps of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise and will be putting players back on the ground around the irradiated ruins of Chernobyl. Additionally, Fear the Wolves will also feature 100 players per lobby and will see that players contend against one another while learning to use environmental hazards such as radiation, dynamic weather conditions, and mutated creatures to their advantage against their foes.
Vostok Games has announced that Fear the Wolves will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year. Stay tuned as we will keep you updated as we quickly approach the game’s release.
