Ranked as one of the fastest growing games of all-times, PlayerUnkown’s Battlground is one that has managed to quickly grab the attention of gamers, and has risen in demand for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users. However, for PC users, there’s some good news coming there way, as Bluehole has announced that PUBG will be taking over GamesCom with its very first invitational LAN tournament.

From August 23-26, the top 80 PUBG players, fans will see some of the games community streamers, and lucky Gamescom attendee’s facing off in several modes including the following: Solo mode, Duo mode, first-person mode, and Squad mode for a total prize pool of $350,000.

While the game itself has garnished quite an income from new players, there’s still a bit more that needs to happen in order to cover the costs for the event, Bluehole will be putting some limited-time in-game vanity items for players to purchase. These are based on Japanese film such as Battle Royale, which is one of the best known film for this kind of game.

The crates will become available starting August 3rd, and can be purchased with in-game Battle Points. While that can be taken care of, players will need to open one of the three with a key that can be purchased for $2.50 USD. To help fund the prize pool, Bluehole says revenue from crates will help cover the cost of the event and be donated to select charities. Check out the announcement trailer below.
