Recently announced as an upcoming title that will be at E3, NIS America has today announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will be arriving this fall for our friends over in Europe on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The releases will both get a physical, but aslo a digital release for those who want the convenience of gaming on the go.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will be a return of the fan favourited continent that we experienced in Trails in the Sky! The game will be an offshoot of Trails in the Sky storied by Nihon Falcom. Returning to their popular franchise, Nihon Falcom will be releasing the title as a first series to tread upon the Erebonian soil in order for fans to experience the inner political conflicts, but also the frequently mentioned powerhouse nations lands in detail. As a standalone story, players will get to explore the expansive lores within the game, but also take on a return to new abilities in battle, speedy, but tactical combat, and even a newly-developed portion of the combat system called “ARCUS”, which will take part in dramatic events in the feuding lands.
For fans who are new to the series, there’s no reason to avoid this title since the events within Trails of Cold Steel have been carefully crafted so that longtime veterans of the series and even newcomers can enjoy this highly and carefully crafted story. While enjoying it players will be taking advantage of the games new “Combat Link System”, which will allow them to form bonds with their charafters friends throught the year, and begin weaving an intricate friendship that will bring in a new set of combat abilities such as healing, guarding, and more. Want to game on the go? That is fully welcome when using the Cross-Save feature that will enable saves between Vita and PS3 largely accessable. Stay tuned for more information we are sure will be shared as E3 gets underway starting tomorrow.
