Gaming franchises always have to evolve at some point. Some are great, like Legend of Zelda’s 2D to 3D transition. Others, like Battlefield’s 3 to 4 launches still have trouble lifting off. For Assassin’s Creed, it is has been relatively consistent, sans three’s ending. Either way is irrelevant, as Rogue will handle the last generation of consoles, but Unity forces the series forward into the next generation of consoles. Both are available today, and with a new game comes newer changes.
Set in France this time around, Unity will add new mechanics to the game, such as combat, stealth routes, and navigation. Other fellow Templar’s await, so team up with three to continue the silent rampage and take on a Revolution in France. For Rouge, it is during the Seven Years War conflict, as betrayal becomes a common theme.
For those who are purchasing both titles, you can unlock rewards via the Uplay service using your Uplay account. By connecting to Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Rogue, there are 30 unlockable in-game rewards now available as of today. Fans can also immerse themselves even deeper into the Assassin’s Creed experience by joining initiates and tracking in-game progression through Assassin’s Creed Unity. Though Ubisoft isn’t done there. They have also announced a Season Pass that is priced at 29.99 USD and will feature Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead kings campaign. This part will take place after Assassin’s Creed Unity. There is also another twist there. For those who have yet to get the Season Pass; Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be apart of it, which will feature a new stand-alone gameplay experience never before seen within the franchise. Those who pre-order the Season Pass will get an exclusive two-handed war axe.
Ubisoft also wants to help holiday shoppers prepare for the season with a next generation console bundle. They have now announced the Assassin’s Creed XBox One bundle. This console will feature Assassin’s Creed Unity. There are two bundles that are available the a Kinectless version (349 USD) and a Kinect Version (449 USD). These bundles will both include a copy of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as well as Assassin’s Creed Unity. This bundle is available at select retailers.
